LEGO® The Lord of the Rings™

One of the best in the LEGO game series, maybe the one with the most varied gameplay mechanics. A inventory with tools to use, carrying or throwing small characters ... you don't find that in other LEGO games. The levels vary too, not all have the same entertainment factor tho. The swamp level is not something I'd play several times just for fun. The game has the typical LEGO game problems when it comes to collision detection and path finding. Some jump sequences can be annoying as the characters refuse to jump in the given direction or fall down for no reason, in this case probably even worse than usual, since the geometry of the levels is a lot more detailed than in other games. Graphical glitches like flickering shadows or in a few cases the background showing through the cape of a character are present as well. Even with the light hearted TT style this game has a much more serious tone in story telling, due to the serious tone of the movie and voice casting. For the LotR fan the old MMO is still the way to go, especially for those whoe want to go deeper into the lore. But TT did a really fine job representing the world in this game, of course it's all scaled down. But being around Edoras, seeing all the important landmarks and being able to reach them is great. Having played LotRO for years it was a bit like coming home. Finally this game found a DRM free home.

I played this game on the Wii back in the day and loved every second of it. I have been waiting, hoping, and praying that it would eventually get released DRM-free here on GOG... and now here it is! This is, in my opinion, the best LEGO game out there. Most of them give you a little hub space where you can reach all the levels and such... (Harry Potter 1-4 gave you the Leaky Cauldron and Star Wars gave you Moss Eisley Cantina...) LEGO Lord of the Rings gives you Middle Earth. (All of it.) It's huge. You're traveling a (condensed) version of Middle Earth and the levels are reached on different parts of the map as you go. There are Map Markers you can find to fast travel between areas, and once you've beaten a level you can always open the map and start the level that way as well. The cast of characters is huge, including characters from the book that never made it to the movie like Tom Bombadil! All the cutscenes utilize actual soundbites from the movies, so it FEELS like you're playing through the movies as well, though it is highly edited and tweaked for comical effect of course. The gameplay is everything you would expect from a LEGO game: multiple characters to switch between (in this game up to 9 at times!), lots of unlockables, lots of secrets to find, fun easy puzzles, and easy controls. Fund for the whole family! Finally, there are "Mythril" tools you can unlock. These basically allow any character to perform acts that only specific characters can perform naturally. It's a huge perk in the game! And with tons of hidden areas that only specific characters/tools can access you'll be traveling back to free-play levels and finding secrets for hours on end! I can't recommend this game enough!

This is a great Lego game, one of the best they made. The only thing about it that I don't like is the Dynamic split screen, but that's optional so you can just set it to Vertical split screen if you prefer.

for me is a good video game im lego fan but i want you to brind the other like lego hobbi and indiana jones
