Legend Bowl brings you back to the glory days of pixel style football games of the past! Enjoy a hybrid of arcade-style football and simulation aspects on and off the field. Fully customize players and teams to create an endless amount of variety in your league. Sim-based controls with challenging gameplay mechanics bring the fight to your doorstep! Legend Bowl includes Exhibition Mode, Tournament Mode, Franchise Mode, Training Camp Mode, and a boat load of customization options.
EXHIBITION MODE
Play an exhibition match with any of the 32 teams in the league. Here you can pick up and play against the computer or a friend to see who can beat each other and get all the bragging rights!
FRANCHISE MODE
Select your favorite team and play through an infinite number of seasons to see if you can win the Legend Bowl! You'll start off by selecting your favorite team and creating your very own coach or choose from an existing coach from the league. From there you'll play a full 17 week schedule, complete with player wire events, player and team stats, weekly wrap up news, and more to keep you engaged along the way.
Player traits are a major factor in how they play each week and you'll have to manage the chemistry of your team to keep you in the winner's circle. There's also a complete off season where you'll take your team through retirements, free agency, player progression, and a full 7 round draft. The goal is to have a deep and immersive Franchise mode where you can have endless hours of fun and challenge!
TOURNAMENT MODE
Take your team through a bracket style tournament tree to see if you can become a legendary squad! There are 16 teams in total and you must beat your bracket each week to get to the final championship game. Do you have what it takes to win it all?
TRAINING CAMP MODE
Take on special drills to earn unlockable items and practice until your thumbs get sore! This mode is a sandbox where you can hone in on your skills and practice plays with your favorite teams.
CUSTOMIZATIONS
Are you the creative type? Well look no further! In Legend Bowl, you'll be able to fully customize players, coaches, and teams to recreate your very own league. Choose from a variety of hairstyles, faces, visors, earrings, hats, headbands, gloves, and more to build as unique of a roster as you can dream up. This is one of the main pillars of our game and we can't wait to see what the community brings to the table!
REALISTIC WEATHER
Weather is key to any football game, so why not in Legend Bowl? Play in clear, cloudy, rain, and snow types of weather. Be careful not to get struck by lightning! There's also a Day time cycle lighting system so you can feel the heat on the field.
PRESENTATION
On the field stat overlays, halftime stats, end of game stats, field art, live referees, chain gang, mascots, advertisements, fans and more get you immersed in the game and bring the action to your screen!

For the best experience a gamepad is highly recommended (e.g. Steam Controller, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Playstation + many others will work with emulation) - The game can also be played with only a keyboard in single player mode. A controller is required in order to play local multiplayer.
Been waiting for this game for a very long time. Not this title specifically, just a decent game of American football. And Legend Bowl is very good, but difficult. I used to love the old Madden, but EA abandoned the PC market in '85 for many years. When I look on their site now, they want you to sell your soul practically to get Madden (not to mention those racing games I used to enjoy). At least on GoG you get the games for keeps. So I just started playing Legend Bowl in the last few days. It is a hard game, but I don't feel like it is cheating on me. I've already shown some improvement. I can match a AI opponent touchdown by touchdown, I just can't seem to kick the point after. In fact, I can't kick at all. I did the tutorial a couple of times, took me about 20 tries to kick 3 field goals. My punts usually go about 5 yards, but I still try, instead of going for it on 4th down. It is a familiar mechanic for games where you kick, you stop the arrow to lock in the direction with a button press, then the power meter ramps up and you let it rip. The power meter tops out in about one second flat and you're kick has already failed at that point. I am confidant I will get the timing down eventually. The game is no slouch on defense, I've had perfectly timed passes knocked down, but I've got lucky and caught poorly thrown balls that the defense bobbled attempting an interception. There are a lot of little things that make the game great, like the retro music, and the trash talk. The game don't skimp out on the play book either, I am impressed by the number of plays available. So far I've only played a few scrimmage games, got the running plays and passing plays down pretty good so far, I just need work on the kicking aspect. Well worth the money, weather it is on sale or not.
Legend Bowl is an modern sports game with an old school appeal. With a focus on sim-cade style gameplay and a pixel art aesthetic it brings the feeling of those retro sports games where FUN was the first and foremost above everything else. Don't let the pixel art fool you, there is plenty of football strategy and depth available to go along with its 16bit charm.
With Franchise Mode, extensive customization options and the ability to make your own teams you'll be set for endless hours of fun. Or you can play with a friend (or three, with four player co-op) in Exhibition or Tournament matches to see who's the real legend. Sim heads will be happy to know that the stat tracking is endless, with everything you could ever want (including Fantasy Points).
Besides the lack of penalties, the game can be a bit challenging when starting out. But an incredibly detailed Tutorial, as well as Training Mode options should get you up to speed in no time. And if necessary, there are a number of difficulty options to tune the game as easy or hard as you like; no need to worry about getting frustrated with an unforgiving game!
If you want a fun football game with significant depth and challenge, Legend Bowl is the game to play. Regardless of anything else on the market, it's unique in focusing on what made football games FUN to play in the first place.
It' s the best sporty game on GOG platform. Better than Madden NFL. Less than 300 MB, where Madden occupy more than 45 GB. 60$ for Madden, 16$ for Legend Bowl and gameplay is giving much more fun than EA Sports product.
Wish I bought it here instead of another storefront. Best simulation style pro football game I've played in a decade or more. Really looking forward to the same team's upcoming College Bowl game.
There's downfield blocking that actually works, for crying out loud.
Take the best qualities of 16 bit madden and 8 bit Tecmo-Bowl, mash them together and you have Legend Bowl. Additionally the customizations are endless. Create your own players, teams, and difficulty levels. Do a quick Google search and you can find NFL rosters of current and past leagues. The cartoony presentation may turn many away, but personally, I think it adds to the enjoyment. The developer hit the sweet spot with arcade-type play and enough simulation and stat-tracking to make an awesome experience. The bottom line is if you liked the early Madden games and a fan of NES Tecmo Bowl, then you will LOVE this game. Highly recommended.
