I would give this 4.5 stars because I did feel slightly less emotional attachment to this main character compared to the first one. I'll round up because the first one was so incredible and season 2 continues the incredible atmosphere and story.
What an awesome game.
This was a totally engrossing experience from chapter 1 of the first season to the last chapter in this one. The story is masterly told. Game mechanics are used to great effect at several points, among other things to enhance the tension and give you some honest-to-god jump scares. Carlos Viola's soundtrack is another big highlight roots the emotional expreince. Puzzles are on the easy side, not necessarily obvious, but not overly challenging.
Overall an excellent point-and-click with great production values. Very reommended.
Good story, but you have to play season 1 and season 2 reasonably close to each other or, like me, you might forget details.
Don't get your hopes too high tho. Season two is almost a walking simulator. Some puzzle might take you some more time to resolve, but most of the time you'll be told what to do if you can read the hints in the dialogue.
Very good atmosphere! These chills could be compared to the ones i would have if i'd spend a night in an insane asylum located next to an old cemetary on a rainy, stormy night.
This game is a sequel to The Last Door: Collector's Edition, and despite the fact that the events of the original are briefly covered at the beginning of the game, it is highly recommended to go through the original first.
Nevertheless, all the advantages of the original have been preserved here.
Great atmosphere of lovecraftian horror. Great soundtrack.
Much like the first season, I have to recommend this game to anyone who wants to see cosmic horror done right. True, it doesn't pull the fear factor as well as it's predecessor, but it still weaves the tale itself masterfully. The only caveat here is with you as the gamer: first to play the original game first, and second to not be looking for something action packed. I'm not sure you will miss anything playing this first, but it's designed to follow up so it would be like opening a book halfway through with nothing more then a cliffnotes recap to catch you up before you being. Yeah, you get it, but you know you are missing the full effect.
And of course, this being a point and click game. If you are expecting any kind of real action in the gameplay, you are once again barking up the very wrong tree.
