There is an unusual cabin deep in the woods. It had served as a laboratory and a dwelling for three generations of Lodgers.
But as of late the latest Lodger has been noticing weird changes in familiar surroundings; things are missing, noises and rattle heard. Something odd is coming out of the woods. Come night, it seems like someone's made himself at home in the twilight of rooms, attics, and cellars.
You need to stay awake and sane till dawn.
The Lodger is wandering the rooms, evading the unknown, counting minutes till morning. But it's only in the night that he can solve the main puzzle and find the answers. What's going on? Are the Guests real, or are they just figments of his insomniac imagination? What'd happened to the forest? What's happening to the cabin? Is there a line between reality and imagination?
Controller support: Knock-Knock fully supports the Xbox 360 controller.
Hide! Play hide-and-seek with denizens of your nightmares.
Fill in the gaps. The house aids the Lodger. You only have to fix it up and keep it in order.
Seek. The Lodger has lost something very important. The reason for what is happening is somewhere inside. Everything that is happening can be explained, you only need to find the key and bring it to light.
I finished it in about 2 hours or even less. After 20 minutes of no sense wandering around the house I started to have this question: "Am I retarded or what? What should I do?!? Do I downloaded a bugged version?".
This game has no sense at all. Repetitive, not scary. Good graphics and sounds, yes, but not much more.
it toys with the mind making you question what is real or not and the mini games it gives in between the levels are fun and heart pounding to try in real life i suggest if you are strongly in to horror and games that challenge your reality and keeps you thinking than this game is a 100% must play and personally to me it had amazing game play and story line with a unique art style very similar to that of dont starve and other melancholia Gothic style games that dig deep into the truth of life but please if you have bipolar, seeing a psychiatrist, or are feint of heart please put these games to the side until said problems are taken care of.
As much as I was intrigued by a new horror by ice pick lodge, this game about insomnia only inspired yawns as opposed to night terrors. It's slow, repetitive, and simply lacking in substance, variety or style.
I'll be brief.
1) Story is delivered from mindset of psychotic & delusional character so you unless your equally insane there is no making sense of whats going on based on the cryptic story.
2) Rules of game and 'cause and effect' of your actions are not explained nor are they readily apparent.
3) You can get stuck repeating same 'day' over and over and over over and over and over and... you get the idea. Thats not fun when you have no idea what the game wants you to do to advance or even why you have to restart your day again.
4) Its not fun. Unless you enjoy changing light bulbs and unlocking doors hundreds of hundreds of times.
Check out a few of the end scene videos on Youtube. Don't worry, it won't spoil anything for you since all those people howl and scream and wonder WTF just happened like i did - tho, i found watching their reactions (same as mine) HYSTERICALLY FUNNY!!!
BUT, if you do play it look up the 'rules' of the game. Maybe knowing them in advance will improve the game to semi-enjoyable for some.
This game has an interesting story line, and some good story elements, however it lacks a good "psychological horror" theme.
Very repetitive game play and very little in the way of "puzzles" made this game boring to play.
If your a younger child, this may be "scarey", however if you can play games like Amnesia, give this a "pass" .
