Great
Great blend of RPG, and Adventure. You travel to some fantastic locations and there's loads of quests and gameplay and different units you can recruit to fight for you.

Great Game
That's an excellent cheerful rethinking of the old classic. Mac users pay attention - the Mac version doesn't work incorrectly on NVIDIA GPU's - all character models are invisible.

Possibly good, but...
... I think one has to be patient in order to be sure about it. I heard some good things about the game, it was pretty cheap at the store, so why not ? And the tutorial hooked me. It is silly, cynical, with some snarks throwed at the recurring clichés of the genre, I was pleased. Even if already I was a bit confused concerning the combat mechanics, still, it was amusing, so I went on. Alas, I soon discovered that the story became quite bland, and the quests were nothing that special and whatever my choices, the outcome was more of less the same. As for the goals, under a cover of silliness, it was in fact basic. But I could overlook it, after all, if the gameplay is gripping and addictive, one could tolerate being deceived by the promising premises. And that's where I am a bit baffled by the number of five-stars review. I'm not a HOMM hardcore-fan, mind you (I only played the IV extensively, wheras many consider this episode terrible, and I barely got past the first campaign of V before being discouraged), but compared to this series, I don't find anything special about KB's combats. Not only tactics, mechanics, weaknesses and strenghts of the units are not really intuitive, but the combats are painfully, painfully slow. You spend ages to fend off the most basic of evil plants, and can get your bottom kicked hard without any hints. The hero's progression is a bit messy as you can't know for sure what's really important and what's not so much. And only three classes ? Damn. What really bugged me too was all this leadership business, limiting the size of your army (wich could already be difficult to manage tanks to poor learning curve), and the need to go back and forth every so often to get new recruits. It reminded me of the stupid removal of caravans in HOMMV. In all fairness, the game might be getting good at some point, especially after hours of trial and error. I must admit that after only a few hours, I was bored. In any case, I'd strongly advise to try a demo of KB before purchasing it.

It's alright.
The game basically feels like Heroes of Might and Magic but without the city management. You get your one hero, run around collecting troops (albeit very few to start) and buy the occasional artifact. The graphics aren't bad and I found the music generally pleasant. There were three major turnoffs for me: Firstly, troops can be exhausted. I ran out of bowmen and well, that's it. No more. Presumably some will appear elsewhere, but the guy I was getting them from sold out and they don't seem to regenerate. Second, 80% of the time, combat was fairly easy. 10% of the time it was impossibly difficult (as in hopelessly outnumbered). Be very, very careful with random encounters. Third, I'm stuck in the game and after several hours of looking, I've simply lost interest in progressing the story line. I have no idea where I'm supposed to go or what to do. Despite googling and walkthrough hunting, I'm all out of ideas. I'm pretty sure I'm less than 25% into the game... that's pretty early to get so lost. Bad game execution, in my arrogant opinion.

Fantasy!
I was the first to play the Princess in armor, it just so happened... there are very pleasant memories! And finally I decided to play the first part, not disappointed, the graphics are like I love! Very beautiful world, very! Many connoisseurs of heroes of sword and magic and those who like... fantasy!
