As a thug beaten to the brink of death you have started your mission of revenge. You want to bury those bastards six feet under for what they have done to you, but to do so you need to start your own gang and recruit right from the streets. If a new gang member turns out to be a punk, blast him, and make room for new ones. Move up in the world, but watch out for the Kingpin, eventually you're going to have to take him on.
Somewhere in the past that never crossed paths with the future lies the world of the Kingpin. Burned out buildings and urban decay are the landscape. Local gangs roam the streets, protecting their turf and scooping out opportunities.
Recruit a gang of thugs and rule the streets, snuff out rivals with a single head-shot and watch them bleed to death. Or put them on fire and watch them suffer. You will deliver an extremely brutal and violent death to those who messed you up. Kill everyone who stands in your way and become new Kingpin - crime lord of every thief, murderer and dirty thug in the city.
Bloody, brutal, swearing-heavy combat - one of the first truly adult-oriented games

I never finished the game. Very soon I became disappointed and frustrated with it. And even then, when it was supposed to be top of the line ... it was ugly. It is still ugly (even more so in the world of modern graphics). It is still frustrating too. I suppose for the sale price you could give it a shot, why not try it for the price of two cups of dish-wash American "coffee"? But be warned, it will be time and money (however little) wasted. Just my two cents.
Lasted 5 minutes playing this. All controls not mapped correctly. Couldn't speak to npcs. Fullscreen did not work. Started feeling like a second job just to optimise it.
I have no nostalgia for this game. There is pretty good unofficial patch to get the modern widescreen resolutions working, but the gameplay is just horrible. Shooting is so crap and takes the fun out of the game. Level design is meh and game is lacking in giving players some guidance to get the gameplay basics familiar. Maybe the coming reloaded version will make this even playable, but as it is, this is not worth it.
One of the most frustrating experiences of my life. Horrible level design and even worse shooting mechanics. It's almost like the game uses "automiss" which is the opposite of autoaim, of course. Frankly, some of the stiffest and least satisfying shooting of all time, which is a terrible shame because it is a Quake 2 engine game. Don't even try to kill anybody with an unmodded pistol or lead pipe. Once you get your hands on the magnum mod for the pistol it becomes a bit more useful but not by much. Enemies still run all over the place completely at random and shuffle side to side during firefights, making themselves incredibly annoying to hit with such a crappy weapon with a low rate of fire. The level desgin is so bad. For example, you'll venture into an area and progress to a point only to realize it's a completely dead end. Turns out you have to backtrack to talk to some guy you didn't notice before, and he's just standing in an alleyway somewhere. The structure is like Hexen, only very poorly done. I really can't recommend Kingpin: Life of Crime unless you're a masochist who enjoys painful trial and error gameplay. In which case buy it right now, because it is definitely a game that is difficult in all the wrong ways.
