Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Reckoning is a good solid remaster, just don't expect much to have changed compared to the original. The world is as magical fantasy as you could get, and it really does draw you in, but some technical issues and a number of repetitive quests can dull the otherwise colourful experience.

An MMO in single player clothes

I really wanted to like this game. On paper it has a LOT going for it but once you start to play it for a while, something starts to become rather familiar. It feels like an MMO ... the combat, the quests, the lands, ... it's all rather generic and typical MMO fare. It got so bad that, back in the day, I googled the development of this game and ... surprise surprise, this WAS originally supposed to be an MMO. Sadly, this means it has all the trappings of an MMO without the fun of enjoying it with friends: too much repetitive grindy combat, a lack of a quality story, forgettable NPCs, ... . It's still a decent RPG, especially today when there's a massive shortage of good fantasy RPGs, but don't let that change the fact that this game is far from a proper single player RPG.

Simply KoA but slightly better

I really don't know whats so hard for people to understand. It is the same game, but better. Its not a newly developed AAA game, its not meant to be played at 8K with realistic graphics and certainly not expected to have the most cutting edge features. Its supposed to be a better-looking KoA with all the content and all the QoL we have asked for with the previous version... and thats exactly what it is. But i guess people not even owning the game can't just let people have fun can they ;D

Not Fast !!!

As I was convinced after watching the game video. Hey this may be a good remake. I bought it dowloaded in about 30 minutes or less. Soon as the game started it was the exact intro. Character creation is the exact same no graphic improvement on character looks. It still has the 10+ year old graphics. And there is no option to improve the graphics. The game itself if you have never played KOA you may think they are good. But if you played KOA it looks exactly like the old game. Same bugs Same issues. I would suggest you do not t buy this game. Well at least not at 40.00 yeah its has a new fancy box and image and great video. But that is what your paying for the game is the same ole same. And If you really want to buy the game I would suggest shop other sites. 40.00 is way to high I got mine for 19 with all DLCS added.

Best Open World RPG I've Played

Great graphic style, engaging (and memorable) main story and quests, likable NPCs, fluid combat, customizable characters, and more loot than you know what to do with. That above list is what made KoA my favorite game in its class, which also happens to be everything that Skyrim was missing. Now I can get it with all the expansions (which at the time I bought the original were removed from Origin for purchase) plus a new expansion, plus no internet requirement. What is not to like? No internet requirement would have been enough for me to re-purchase this game (that's why I use GOG!).

Corporate Greed Strikes Again!

First off, be aware that the 1 star I awarded is not for the game itself. This I played back in 2012 and it was (and still is) a great game. And thereby hangs the probem. This re-issue plays and looks almost identical to that version, rendering it (in my opinion) pointless. This is a fine example of the shameless greed that is too often displayed by developers/publishers nowadays and only the truly gullible would fall for it. At the very least, this should have been a free update for owners of the original game, but to charge the inflated price of £50 is a total disgrace! The long-awaited, highly anticipated (and totally new) Cyberpunk 2077 is selling for the same amount, for God's sake!! All I can say is shame on anybody who encourages this corporate greed by purchasing it!
