Has run somewhat out of steam
At its core, this is still a typical Kingdom Rush game, but I like it less than the three predecessors. As someone mentioned, the reason is that it feels a bit stale to me compared to the other titles. I found the gameplay less inspired and exciting, sometimes downright casual. I just played another level in "Impossible" and it was a walk in the park. It's telling in a way that this is the only part of the series where I could achieve everything possible. The fun of the past still comes through just often enough and it's also nice to look at, which is why for me the game doesn't completely deviate from its predecessors. At least quantitatively, especially concerning the towers, there is still something on offer. Again, it's also nice to look at.

A stripped-down version
Do not buy this. For whatever reason, they have stripped out a host of features from PC version compared to the Android/mobile version of the game, such as items/power-ups, zooming out the world map so you miss out on all the funny details, gating tons of heroes and towers behind game progression and making it impossible to do themed builds/combinations before the game is quite literally over, the strange absence of the endless mode, and so on and so forth. Sadly the android version is hyperstuffed with microtransactions and missing features introduced here (like the Encyclopedia). So no matter what, you as the consumer lose.

Controls are broken...
I would play this game, but unlike its predecessors, the controls are broken. Every time I click the mouse on something, the game clicks away from whatever I clicked on, and/or chooses the "Hero". Most of the time I can't add/upgrade towers without clicking it anywhere from 4-40 times, or more. I can't do basically anything except move the Hero around the map. I was able to glitch my way through the first few levels, but it became WAY too difficult to manage. Huge waste of time. I loved and played through ALL of the previous games/DLC. Very disappointed.
