Nightdive Studios and Ziggurat Interactive have teamed up to bring back this sophisticated shooter laced with gallows humor and visual violence to bestow mayhem to all! Puzzle solving and strategic thinking are placed at a premium. The visceral violence is complemented by paranormal graphics and a super(natural) storyline.
Set in the early 1930s, Killing Time: Resurrected casts you as a student, studying the cryptic world of Egyptology, who finds themselves trapped in the estate of wealthy heiress Tess Conway. A ritual to bestow eternal life conducted by Ms. Conway backfires and her high-society friends vanish without a trace. It’s up to you to find and destroy the mystical Egyptian Water-Clock to undo its curse and face a legion of super(natural) horrors.
The remastered edition of Killing Time: Resurrected features toggleable high-resolution character artwork/sprites from the original 3DO and PC versions of the game, upscaled environmental texturing, smoother gameplay, more responsive controls, and expanded control and key-bind settings.

One of the troubled results of the short FMV era, and rated one of the 'worst' for years, the original 'Killing Time' over time was found to be glitchy, but worth the tweaking and not so bad by many who played this. There are community mods and fixes available, as well; I began playing it myself a few years ago: NOW we have the 'Resurrected' (updated) version, that removes most of the issues and brings this up to date for everyone to play. This includes being able to choose PC or 3DO characters, even switching mid-game: Myself I prefer the pc version, as more 'eery' and 'realistic'.
Finally, this is only a personal note, that part of the charm of the original was the OLD FMV, pixelated like the old movie style of the game itself; but it certainly looks and plays BETTER in this latest Version from Nightdive, at GOG here: HIGHLY recommended, especially for those into ghost stories, pre WWII decor and drama, and now a GOOD FPS game, and that was also AHEAD of it's time, though the platforms and systems (so coding) were not then. NOW it SHINES as it was meant to: Thanks AGAIN, GOG; and NIGHTDIVE! :-)
This game has some interesting concepts that are not implemented poorly, just not implemented well enough, but it was the 90's. I still enjoy this game, and night dive did a wonderful job. It's worth checking out.
Killing Time does a lot of thing I like Such as
-Some what non intrusive story, about 5 movies and the rest are ghosts sequence.
-Not serious environment
-Sound track
-Big open area's to explore
- Art style, a great mix of live Acton, clay and i think drawn elements
A lot of thing i don't like such as
-Claustrophobic Indoor area's
-Very limited weapons
-Little play time
- (breaking the rules) Unfair pricing $25 CAN on sale is a big ask even if you throw in Classic. I get that I'm not seeing it from a dev pov, but as a consumer I cant justify $25 CAN even if it's some what new.

campy cutscenes are enjoyable - shame you can be attacked out of them and there's several repeats.
Story if serviceable, doom engine styled play but in a contiguous map - this leads to "where the f♥♥♥ do I go?" syndrome. And despite spending a good chunk of my time completely lost - the game was still only 5 hours long.
Weapon variety is also quite dull, and due to ammo placement 80% of your fighting will be done with a slow firing shotgun. The other 20% will be flamethrower (basically the DOOM plasma cannon) and tommygun (DOOM chaingun)
The game runs well and looks good (considering the original). Though running back and forth over and over again is tedious in my opinion. I also set the game to very hard difficulty, but health and ammo are everywhere, so the combat still wasn't challenging enough to engage me. Most enemies die in 1-2 shots from the shotgun.
I can see why people like the quirkiness, but aside from the enemies I am actually not a fan of the setting. It's just too bizarre for my tastes.
