Tried the original Kathy Rain game years ago, and was taken aback at the challenging puzzles mixed with memorable characters and a gripping story that keeps drawing one in.
In the sequel, all of that continues and is even improved upon. Fresh challenges, familiar characters who have changed and grown, and a new mystery growing out of the events of the first.
Worth the buy.
It's more four stars and half than five. The game is exceptionally well made, and it is really the closest thing to another Gabriel Knight game you can get. It's that it doesn't really reach those levels of quality. Mostly, because some characters are underused, and I'm not sold to the main "metalhead girl becomes PI" character, I can't find her believable enough. That said, we have top notch graphics, voices, some excellent puzzles to keep you interested until the end. It is one of the best.
I love the first Kathy Rain game, and now I am surprised with the graphic quality improvements and the overall experience itself. I am playing it yet, however I am enjoying it so much.
Fantastic visuals, a solid story, excellent voice acting. Especially appreciate the adult language! A challenging but not a hard core point and click game. Very good flow, especially with the day/night cycle. You always know what to do next so there's little random clicking and combining. Thankfully no mini games :)
Probably could have been a bit more challenging but still 5/5.
