Too buggy, yet I want to like it...
Reviewing Version 1.0, as it was released and is the only version now (Jul 26) on gog. (on a side note: seems there's an update to the Steam version, which gog did not get?) tl;dr: The game seems VERY UNFINISHED, it is bugged to a point where it seems game breaking to me (Istanbul map is comicly broken). MAYBE a patch will fix, meanwhile only buy for the Trabant nostalgia if you need to. My complaints in detail: * Istanbul map is fundamentally broken: entry to gas station is blocked of by a bridge pillar * Uncle does not leave the car, and if he does, he stays sitting on bed staring into the air. (WTF?!) * Extremely unbalanced gameplay, you either grind or cheat for enough money, neither is fun. * Trying to make money by salvaging parts from the road? Good luck with your almost non-existing inventory; I ended up just dropping parts in the car for selling (why is that not possible? I can fit a bottle in there easily, or uncle can hold....) * Maps seem to be generated somehow, but badly, I ended up passing the identical landscape twice many times. * Language selection required to quit the game * AI traffic honks at you on a 3-lane otherwise empty highway. Well, thank you... * gas stations should have a sign pointing to them (also: what point is there in putting one on top of a hill, miles from the highway?!) * Engine sound not even close to Trabant (why bother modelling it is such high detail otherwise then?) * Laika shop interface is an abomination: only images and prices, no explanation of stuff I'm buying. Also lets you buy stuff that never gets delivered. * A choice of 30 fuel tanks. Why was time spent on this instead of playtesting this game? * Numerous flaws in text (might be the translation) * Graphics are glitching every here and there, with objects flickering or clipping through others * No newspaper in hotels despite "tips and tricks" saying so On the good side: * lovely car * lovely radio music * lovely scenery I keep hoping for a proper version 2.
