still got the JA magic

It's fantastic. Has all the hallmarks of the original games. Even a lot of the same weapons which makes it feel very familiar. The cultural references are hilarious. Gameplay is perfect. I noticed some subtle changes to the interface that make the game more fun to play in a lot of ways than the originals. For instance ammo/inventory management is streamlined, and movement during combat doesn't require you to stand up, then run, then go back to prone. It just automatically does what will cost the fewest APs. Really great game, hope we see a lot of DLCs.

Excellent game, loved every moment

I just completed the campaign, around 63 hours in total. I loved the game honestly. In the beginning it starts a bit slow as your squad is not that good, but once they level up and you start recruiting better mercs, you can easily take out 15 or more enemies with a single squad of 6. Once you get to a second squad game really hits off. There is an entire part of the story involving ex-German soldiers that can easily be missed and that's what I really love about this game. Almost nothing is mandatory and there is so much content to explore. The story was also enjoyable, classic 80's movie type of stuff. A bunch of side quests to complete as well. Your squad is interesting enough, they are all colorful characters, you really feel like they have personalities. Occasionally they will get into a discussion with one another which was interesting to watch. All in all, great game, loved every moment of it and I recommend it to everyone.

What a game!

Main focus of the game is tRPG. Mixed with cRPG elements. And it's a great mix. The map is divided into sectors. Most of them contain quests, secrets or points of interest. You can explore each sector or go through the main quest. The amount of mercs increases the replayability. Every merc has it's own style and... favorite mercs. The dialogues between them are funny. Also, some events adds replayability and your choice matters. In the most cases game has more choices than some newest RPG's (Starfield for example). I think I should explore the previous games in the series to get a fuller experience.

This is it!

Yes! Thank you! Finally! This - is - Jagged Alliance. Good release, no bugs so far and runs smooth. Can't wait what a few patches and perhaps the community does with this down the road.

Worthy successor

I began playing Jagged Alliance at the age of 14 with the 2nd part. I was really hooked on it. I remember that the German version was cut and certain death animations, like exploding heads, were missing. As a response, I had to get the English version in other ways. What made Jagged Alliance so special were the unique mercenary characters. I'm very pleased that they've finally managed to recapture this in the 3rd part, after the previous attempts in the spin-offs were rather flops. The initial graphics glitches have also been fixed now and the nostalgic Jagged Alliance 2 feeling has returned.
