Good game from the past
It's not really the Duke, Caleb or Wang. But it tries hard and does many things right. If you didn't know it you might think this game would be from those times. It's fun! If you like those old school shooters, chances are good you might like this one! The developers on the other side... well, they knew what kind of game they were doing, and what time period they tried to imitate. That's why I don't understand they immediatly gave in when the first people called them out for political incorrectness. So keep in mind that future updates might remove "offensive" content. But with gog Galaxy you can always go back to 1.0 which is uncensored. But I'm rating only the game here (version 1.0), I'm personally not a fan of review bombing, and four out of five stars is absolutely ok. More variety in enemy design and weapons and it would have been the five star rating.

You'll like the game. I think it really is as simple as that. This is a certain kind of shooter for a certain kind of gamer. This one is gonna stick with me as one of my favorites

Must-play!
This is absolutely, 100% a must-play title for any a) retro FPS fan or b) FPS fan in general. It has the most polished gameplay and level design out of any of the Build titles. I still prefer Blood but I think on paper Ion Fury has the best gameplay and maps. Don't bother reading any more reviews, just get the game and play it, there is no way you will regret it.

Best (uncesonsored) shooter since DN3D
This game made me realize how much i miss oldschool shooter level design and fighting against evil sprites. The graphic style is obviously just awesome, i spent quite some time just admiring at the scenery... admittedly more than in most games using modern engines aimed ad photo realism. There was some temporary bad decision making on part of 3D Realms, but it seems the course was corrected, thumbs up!
