You are among the latest, and perhaps the last, of the challengers to undertake this great journey into the stars. While the universe may be ancient, you and your rivals are still young. As you compete with one another for control of this galaxy, there are others, far older and more powerful than you, who watch from a distance with unknown intentions. It is time for you to prove your empire deserves to rule this galaxy, once and for all. You may prove worthy after all, but worthy of what? It is up to you to Discover the Unknown...Interstellar Space: Genesis takes classic turn-based space 4X strategy mechanics, adds in a few twists of its own, and tosses them in with several brand new mechanics to create a truly unique entry into the genre. It also aims to provide a lack of burdensome micromanagement and an emphasis on the best aspects of classic 4X space strategy games.

Average and bland
Interstellar Space: Genesis (IS:G) is a by-the-numbers, unimaginative, and soulless imitation of Master of Orion 2 (MoO2). Nothing more, nothing less. Graphics are nice, gameplay options are faithful to the MoO2 games, and the tutorial is serviceable. However, the game feels dull and empty, and you'll be clicking the "next turn" button repeatedly in hope of something interesting happening. During about an hour of gameplay, I explored 3 planets, researched 5 techs, made half a colony ship, and ran into 1 other civilization--and was bored to tears the whole time. Of MoO2 successors, MoO: Conquer the Stars is the superior game, even with its terrible combat. I would recommend it, along with the unofficial patch. IS:G is completely unnecessary.

Learning Curve more of a Brick Wall
If you’ve got the time and the willingness to spend on the game, it may be worth it as there is poetical there. But I’m not willing to spend that time on this game, for me it’s at best MEH and the turn based space combat is rubbish.

Could not find the "Next Turn" button.
(Yes I looked in their Quick Start guide --- no help.) Gave up after 25 minutes. If something that fundamental is too hard to find, just imagine trying to accomplish anything halfway meaningful! No, this is not an improvement on MOO2: MOO2 is playable, this is a waste of electricity.
