Why the language limitation...

Indiana Jones and the infernal machine is even today my favorite game. So a dream came true when I stumbled across it here. I realised the provided version is only English but still I didn't even hesitate to buy it. But directly in the beginning I got an uncomfy feeling when he started speaking in English. That was the point were I knew I have to play it German to get the full immersion back into my childhood. So I picked up my original disk of the German version I have in my drawer, picked two files ("CD1.GOB" and "CD2.GOB" if your interested) off of it and exchanged the gog version ones et voila texts and voices are now German. Unfortunately this removes the configuration for the controller mappings which I think has to do with the new files not being part of the original installation process where the linking between controller configurations and the game is done. As the settings for custom mapping your buttons ingame is broken they can't be adjusted afterwards. But as of right now changing the language was not a problem what so ever so why wasn't it implemented in the first place. I hope the Gog team fixes the controller mapping issue, then the two stars will turn into a solid five.

Best Indy Game since 2Ds

This game is simply amazing, the story is interesting, the mechanics are fun, the maps are adventurous and with stuff to discover and every piece of gameplay feels rewarding and fun. I'd take this game a million times over Emperor's Tomb (which I regard as the worst of all Indy games), because it's simply superior in every aspect. If you want a fun and adventurous Indiana Jones game, with a good runtime (it's almost 20 hours depending on your style which is an absurd lot for a game of that time), interseting things to find, and interesting story and a simple yet entertaining gameplay then this is definitely the game for you.

Adventures with Indy during the Cold War

Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine is a classic adventure game set after WWII, so the enemies are now the Russians, rather than the Nazis! This is not a point-and-click adventure like Last Crusade and Fate of Atlantis, but is more of a platform and puzzle-solving game, similar to the early Tomb Raider games. It's a lengthy game that takes you to many spectacular locations around the world, and if you can live with the somewhat awkward controls and camera, it's well worth your time. Definitely recommended!

Totally Surprised Me

I bought this game a few years ago cause I'm a big Indiana Jones fan. Somehow this one slipped by me in my youth - probably because I was still obsessed with only Star Wars at the time when it first came out - and I wasn't expecting to like it that much because it was so dated. But man, did this one surprise me. It has the best level design of any game I've ever played. The puzzles are hard but not impossible. The locations are varied and beautiful. The story gets a little too into sci-fi at the end, but the levels in Babylon, Tien Shan, Palawan, Mexico, and Sudan are all absolutely stellar. If you can tolerate the slow gameplay, I totally recommend this. I wish they would remaster this game. It's probably my first choice for a remaster.
