Not what I hoped for
You'll get one-shot by enemies that aren't even in sight and experience annoying bossfights that ask you to pull off perfect sequences of inputs. When it works, it's fun, but it could've been a lot better.

4 hours in another dimension
Yes! It is THE game. It's difficult, permadeath guaranteed! Instead of wanting to smash your monitor or keyboard, this results in a furious, adrenaline driven rage, leaving a bloody mess behind. Started playing about 4 hours ago and now that I've stopped, I'm wondering, where the colors at the edge of my visual field have gone. If you're into tactics: This is your game. If you're into action: This is your game. If you're into weird art: This is your game. If you're into music: Guess what? This IS your game! Feel free to combine this to "If you're into weird action tactics art with a great soundtrack..."! The soundtrack is fantastic, so are the graphics. Only turn down are some bugs here and there, but the gameplay compensates them (actually this is the first game I've seen, that is able to do that). Before I forget: Get ready on your "R" key :)

Top notch brutal stealth action game
Let me get this out of the way...This game is hard, but fair. This one of the most brutally and morally bankrupt game I have played in a long time...and it was fun ;) The gun play is excellent, the challenge is well welcomed, and the game design is visually appealing. The only complaint I have about it is that I really did not care for the boss fights. They just felt out of place to me. Overall, the game was worth every penny, and a good addition to my collection.

Not Just More Retro Pixels
This is a brutal and intense game that brings back the quick-trigger feeling of old school games with an ultraviolent twist. No health bars means one hit and you're dead, so you gotta plan carefully. But the bloodier mess you make, the better you're rewarded. Every new day, every new phone call brings another set of rooms of thugs you need to take out with weapons ranging from simple baseball bats to knives, right up to shotguns and assault rifles. And every mask you put on--every grotesque identity you assume--gives bonuses to your character. All in all "Hotline Miami" is a good game for when you just want to color the pastel city a deeper shade of red.

Incredible Game
Despite being an old game, it still has very nice gameplay and the music is incredible. I can recommend this wholeheartedly.
