Great game, but faulty platform
GOG release of the game does not work on WIndows 11. I spent a day testing various tips and tricks to run it with no luck. I ended up buying another copy on Steam, which works fine without any additional steps.

Nice game,but why NO MAC version on GOG?
Why there isn't the MAC version available on GOG??? This is not the only game that has a MAC version that is NOT available on GOG. Frankly I find this scarcely correct for the GOG customers.

Cliche Starting Point
Had to write this as soon as I encountered what would be the the big reason for going out into the desert, to find the derelict ship. The game starts off with the cliche that, "the planet is dying." I believe this is not only a cliche, but that it is unbelievable. Homeworld: Deserts Of Kharak could've started off with something much more believable, but the game seems to disregard it - that being the threat of a hostile nation. This is ultimately a minor, but important point for me - as far as the story is concerned - as I am sick of hearing it. It was as much a cliche back in 2016 as it is now, and I was already sick of it before that. To me, this sets the tone for what I am about to get into, and I can already predict the type of dialogue I will be hearing out of this game - I've heard it too many times before not to expect it. So, for me, this is enough to mar my experience with Deserts Of Kharak, and get two stars off its score. (Would be a star and a half, if I could rate it as such.)

WARNING: NOT UPDATED TO LATEST VERSION!
A very good game, but for some reason GOG are so far refusing to update the game to the latest version (v1.30), and do not appear to be responding to queries regarding this issue! This poor business behaviour is the reason for the two star review. The game itself is much better than that. There is a responsibility for companies to keep products up to date for customers who have paid for such products and until GOG face this responsibility, I CANNOT recommend any further purchases by prospective buyers.
