Great art but not much else going on
Pros: + Great art + Decent mechanics Cons: - Shallow lore - Odd difficulty spikes - Lots of errand running - Doesn't leave much of an impression - The game world feels empty - Cutesy art style clashes heavily with serious writing Definitely worth it on sale. I'm happy I played it to see what the fuss was about. I can see why people love it even if I have criticisms.

Overhyped, Boring and Shallow
I really cannot understand why the scores are so high for this game. It's got some simplistic but good artwork and some good music but the gameplay is beneth mediocre and not very well crafted. You just explore, jump and hit stuff. You also need to collect some coins to buy stuff that forces you to grind. All those reviewers that recommended this have really low standards. There are many great platformers on GOG. Go get Monsterboy, Huntdown, Steamworld Dig 1 & 2 and Mark of the Ninja. Those are GREAT games. This one is not so I'm getting a refund.

It's Almost Amazing
This game could have been a near-perfect metroidvania... but it's souls-like elements really ruin the charm... why? The save points are way too far away and if you fail on a body run you may lose hours of work... this may be good for kids who have 100 hours to play a game, but this level of frustration isn't acceptable for someone who values their time. The combat is awesome... the world is one of the most interesting I've ever seen... but I hate Dark Souls and this game tries too hard to copy it's most frustrating and punishing elements. If there were a mod to keep geo (for the latest version), I make keep playing... but I'm quitting after 6 hours.
