Money Talks. Silence Pays. Prepare to Make a Killing. When assassins from Agent 47's contract agency, The ICA, are eliminated in a series of hits, it seems a larger, more powerful agency has entered the fray. Sensing he may be a target, 47 travels to America, and prepares to make a killing.
Features:
'Blood Money' system: the cleaner the 'hit' the more money you receive which can be spent on bribing witnesses and police to reduce your notoriety, weapon customisation, specialist equipment and information.
Customisable weapons: modify Agent 47's custom weapons in a variety of ways including sound, recoil, rate of fire, damage, reload speed, accuracy and zoom.
Strong narrative: who is wiping out the ICA and what is their motivation?
This is the best game of the Hitman series. I had played and re-played all the missions so many times, because there are so many alternative pathways to complete them.
The successor of the series, Hitman Absolution, ended up with a splinter-cell-like, linear and gamey gameplay, which pales in comparison to Hitman Blood Money.
For 2$ on a discount, this game is really stolen
Hitman: Blood Money is a classic and in my opinion one of the best games in the Hitman series. The amazing soundtrack composed by Jesper Kyd, the many ways you can kill you targets and the variety of weapons, oh and the the great level designs too! I remember the days when I played this on the PS2 as a kid and I'm glad to see its on GOG as well! Well worth the £9.29 I paid for it. Plus the GOG version comes with Cloud Saves and a Overley for anyone that likes those features (and of course its DRM free!).
The game for its year, looks pleasant even now and the gameplay is great, with valuable replayability, just to see how you can accomplish mission differently. The only regret I have were that the missions were over.
I was using win10, and at first could not pass beyond the first mission, the game would crash, but searching for the solution was worth it. For me worked not installing the additional hotfix.
the game itself is great, no doubt
I own the original DVD retail version and for convenience reasons this one here published on GoG
, the are some graphic issues regarding first person view and sudden brightness changes that I didn't have in the original version
in addition, for whatever reason there are some parts in the game where your character can't seem to pass through, e.g. the mountain slope in "a Vintage Year" leading to the docks, a car in the parking lot of "Dance with the Devil" close to a police officer smoking, you can't sneak up on him because you're stuck in between the car and the wall
furthermore the AI seems to bug out sometimes, don't know if that is GoG specific or not, unrealistic enemy AI behaviour where they're able to track you down with 100% accuracy no matter where you are on the map, even if you're hiding in a closet, it's almost eerie lol
so all in all just a rant over technical issues, the game still holds up to this day, big replay value even though I played it through a hundred times, whether you want to try out different approaches or just run and gun down levels
