Heroes of Might and Magic® 5 Bundle includes Heroes of Might and Magic® 5 and its two expansions: Tribes of the East and Hammers of Fate.
Heroes of Might and Magic® 5 is a turn-based strategy game in which you can build cities and besiege them, train troops and slaughter them, and explore new lands – and crush them under your iron heel. You directly command your armies on the battlefield and aid them with your character’s abilities as well as your own strategy skills. With six unique factions to choose from, each with its own set of buildings and creatures, Heroes of Might and Magic® 5 provides gamers with the strategy and detailed graphics that the series has been known for. As you progress through the game your character gains levels of experience that allow him to learn new spells and abilities. All this is set in the magical and enchanting setting of the legendary Might and Magic® universe.
What went wrong:
- it got a slowed paced and toned down gameplay
- he music isnt as epic as HOMM3
The good part:
- more diverse creatureS with unique abilities.
This happens when the new Crapisoft pushes devs around to make a game. It doesn't have the feel, it doesn't have the style, it desn't have the climax. Doesn't feel like HoMM at all.
Im a fan of the Homm games, played all 1-7. 5th game is one of the worse in my opinion. Hero works a bit like in 3 and 4 (can attack but can't be attacked). Hesitation is something bad for games and I didn't enjoyed that. Also graphicks are poor in my opinion. Those 3d graphicks are just ugly and can't competite with Heroes 3. What's more the campaign is the poorest experience in entire series. The heros are just bland and boring, same the story - only few dialogues (3 and 4 had 10000x more text that build character depth). I bought the physical copy on the release and was very dissapointed after great Heroes 3, and quite nice Heroes 4 (at least story was great, but other changes also wasn't as bad as people say). I tried to give this game another chance this year, but was disappointed again.
Btw - I played on uplay (bought on pricebug) and even the menu did'nt worked and I had to seek for help how to make it work, so if you like this game better buy it on GOG.
Personally, I didn't like this game all too much as it really didn't feel like HOMM any more, so first and foremost, if you're looking for that "old HOMM" (games 1-4) feel, this game doesn't have that.
It still is, however, an ambitious new take on a classic game, introducing new units and new playstyles, as well as truly 3D battlefields and maps.
