A Turn-based Strategy Classic

I have been playing this game since I was a little kid. I used to watch over my dad's shoulder as he played. There is incredible nostalgia in this game for me, but it is also a great game. It is very accessible to those who don't play a lot of strategy games, but there is a decently high skill ceiling for those who like the genre. 9 distinct factions to play with, a powerful and satisfying magic system, a wide cast of fantasy creatures with which to build armies, 3 sets of long campaigns, many individual scenario maps and a decent random map gen that supports PVP. The game also has a great soundtrack, and art that stands the test of time. Highly recommended.

Best of the Heroes of Might and Magic

This has been my favorite game since 1999. Subsequent versions of this series never lived up to this version.
