Great game, just too effing hard

Trying to play the first campaign scenario on average difficulty, enemy hero just keeps coming into my territory with x4 troops to what I have, kills my hero, takes all my mines, just depressing. Have restarted 3x and kinda f this game.

Ohh the nostalgia

I absolutely loved this game. Still do. Looking forward to trying my hands at the expansion, once I re-familiarized myself with the original.
