The DOS Music selector patch has been incorporated into the main installers for all three languages. After updating via GOG Galaxy or installing from the offline GOG installers, you will see a "Music selector" item in your Start menu just under the shortcut for the main game.
The Windows version of the patch remains the same.
I bought this game as a token to the many hours I spent with it as a teen. Its vibrant colors, fantasy setting with all the creatures of mythology (and D&D), as well as its wonderful musical score, are unforgettable. I have issues with the sound skipping, and the game hasn't aged as well as it's younger brother (HOMM 3,) but if you're curious or nostalgic, it's well worth the price during a sale for the music alone.
Heroes of Might and Magic 2 is a real beautiful game in every sense. Especially if you played it at the time of its original release, I am sure you have so many good memories. While playing the original civilization it was a matter of "One more turn" because of gameplay and content, but for Heroes of Might Magic 2 it is also has the additional characterics:its beauty. When I look at it today it still has the same charm for me. From the beauty of the maps to the clanking of crusader armor in battle, everything is done perfect. One of the most fun part was in Archibald's campaign, in the scenario that has Corlagon as hero. I won't spoil it but let me tell you it was real fun to play. After playing it I understood why Corlagon's estate in Might and Magic had such residents:) Don't miss this great classic. I also love Heroes of Might and Magic 3, I think both of them are great games that you shall not miss. (Not much to say about Heroes of Might and Magic 1, as I played it after Heroes of Might and Magic 2, I couldn't enjoy it.)
The best HOMM, though many others will say 3. I say this one has the same gameplay, equally amazing soundtrack and the cartoony graphics are still delightful to this day.
This game is tough. Tougher than Heroes of M&M 3. Try it and you'll see.
I also think that GOG's price is more than fair on this one, so buy it!
I own the original copy of this game, gold version too. :)
