Heroes of Might and Magic® 2: Gold

Soundtrack is wonderful, pixel art unforgettable. Gameplay is amazing. What more do we want?

The AI is very weak but stay my old favourite.

I remember playing Heroes of Might and Magic II back when I was a teenager. A bunch of friends would gather and play all night on just one computer. Those were the days — and back then, we actually had the attention span to enjoy watching each other's turns, too. While HOMM2 may not quite reach the heights of the undisputed king of the series, Heroes of Might and Magic III, in my opinion it comes in a very close second. In fact, I think the graphics in HOMM2 have aged better than those of HOMM3. The soundtrack and sound effects carry a deep sense of nostalgia and are consistently pleasant to listen to. For its time, the game is impressively well-designed. It's challenging, but with the right strategic planning and a solid understanding of the mechanics, you can win. If you didn’t grow up with HOMM2, you might not consider giving it a try — especially if you’re used to HOMM3. But don’t cheat yourself out of this gem. You might be surprised at just how good it really is.

It's hard to believe this game is from the mid nineties. It's a rich world and endless gameplay. More than just nostalgia: it's immersive gameplay and worth a revisit.

Never played it when I was child, even I played before Heores III, but this version is also perfect. Those sounds, those graphics, same mechanics. Magical, excuse the redundacy.
