Hell Pie isn’t the funniest game around but it really doesn’t need to be, because its solid gameplay and fantastically disgusting world is more than enough to carry its not-so-lovable hero through the duration of this not-so-family-friendly adventure.

Nice game ... nice GPU killer

The game is enjoyable and I like the art style and humor. What I don't like is what the game does to my Radeon 5700 XT. Even with low graphics settings in 1080p, my GPU often hits its thermal limit, drawing 180 W! The thing is, Hell Pie is not the most graphically advanced game out there. It shouldn't be that demanding and looks like a bug or terrible programming. An example are the glowing dance pads in Club Luxuria. I look at a glowing pillow, and my graphics card freaks out! Heck, oftentimes facing a wall lets my graphics card draw 180 W! I hate when software has the potential to kill my hardware!

Overlooked gem

Maybe I'm a little bias as I got this free with Amazon Gaming, but I absolutely love it! It's a wonferfully silly (not to mention juvenile) platformer with some frustratingly difficult gameplay all wrapped up in a style reminiscent of classic N64 platformers such as Conker's Bad Fur Day - which is high praise as that's had a special place in my heart since I first played it many years ago. If you enjoy this sort of game and fancy slinging a cherub around to kill enemies and swing from I'd recommend this without hesitation.

Overall I like the game, but man, the humor gets old quick. The swinging mechanic is the standout in the game.

A true hidden gem !
