Great game

Already ran thru on normal and hard, might try a harder difficulty but hard was probably the sweet spot for me, it might take a bit to "get" the game but once it clicks, the combat is very enjoyable, the visuals still look great, and the gun sounds are loud and powerful. Too bad we never got a sequel, and you can tell they cut corners with the story cutscenes but who cares, the story is bad anyways. I zoned out very early and just enjoyed the shooting

Hard Reset Redux

A fun and challenging traditional FPS with appealing cyberpunk design. Visualize a combination of Chaser and Warhammer 40,000 Necromunda Hired Gun. Unusually, the story and environments become more engaging as the game progresses so no risk of boredom and, instead, high replay value. Standard controls, well optimized. I sustained over 60 frame rate on my GeForce 1050 Ti. A great value especially when on sale.

When it clicks, it rules.

Playing most shooters doesn't really train you for this one. You're inclined to hide behind cover, place headshots. That's the wrong move. Do not conserve ammo - it's falling out of everyone's orifices. Shoot everything that moves and THINGS THAT DON'T - environmental kills are the name of the game, and there are few 3D assets in the game world that don't explode if they're shot.

The inferior version.

Original Hard Reset was great. Where the original would get an 8.5/10, Redux gets barely a 6/10. Read the most helpful review carefully, it pretty much points out all the major gameplay differences and why it's worse than the original. I will just add that besides the gameplay changes, it also downgraded the graphics (because Redux was also targeted at consoles). Especially particle and lighting effects are reduced/muted and the game is overall more (for the lack of a better word) "blurry". The downgrade did improve the performance a lot, but doesn't change the fact that the game looks noticeably worse in many places. And for a game from 2011, most people will now have hardware to run this game easily. If you can get your hands on the original, do it as it's pretty noticeably different than Redux.

great game

Great fast paced shooter, it will keep you moving and on the ready all the time. There are a lot of upgrades and different playstyles to choose from, the bosses are well done and once you're finished with them they will be crisp.
