Halfway through the game the difficulty increased to the point where, in addition to not positioning your troops anywhere stupid, you need to rely on luck to complete the missions.
Don't waste your time on this game.
Very good game, challenging tactics, reasonable learning curve, storyline also not bad. However, I have no idea, if it will get boring after a while, with 3hrs into the game, it is still exciting.
After a few hours playing I would definitely recommend this title. It is relax, fun, artfully drawn with a pleasant ambient music. The story has you going. I isn't the next best-selling scifi story. It isn't bad either. The strategic choices are fairly balanced though i miss some of the features of triple-A titles such as X-com2, Mutant Year Zero & Fallout. Still, really bring back nostalgic vibes of my 80-90's gaming experience though with more nuances and features. Well done.
Hopefully some polyshing of combat features in future?
Brings back memories of Space hulk and Space crusade on the Amiga, great pixel graphics, work playing :)
Soundtrack is heavily inspired by the work of Vangelis which is also a huge plus.
The game has good story and is pretty atmospheric owing to level designs and graphic style. But, if developers could add something like comic-style less pixelated cut-scenes between the levels, the game could only benefit from it.
However the game becomes very imbalanced in the middle and later parts. Enemies begin to use shields too often and even if you use all the tactics and advantages of locations, most of what you can expect is that you simply will run out of ammo and crew members. The victory in the fight in this case achieves only by crits therefore pure luck, what prolongs the gameplay unjustifiably due to inability of saving during the level or so-called "old-school style". Also there are not many options available: move, shoot, one special ability for each crew member and a simple cover system that works strangely btw.
Overall: a good idea, not a good implementation. If you are patient enough, you might enjoy this game.
