I loved the original Gwent in the Witcher games. This feels like it is trying to be an MTG knockoff.
It does not have an easy-to-find quit button. I ended up having to end-task it.
I started playing Gwent in the BETA, and have been playing now and then ever since. I picked up the Witcher games and books, because I found Gwent to be fun. This was my gateway into the Witcher franchise, and I am happy that it is so.
I like to experiment, I like to build my own decks, around concepts or themes. I don't like to follow guides, and I don't see the point of them unless I was interested in competitive play. This game allows me the freedom to have fun, surprise players and win even with the weirdest decks.
It is stylish, fast, well made and very much alive. And on top of all that, it's part of a bigger IP spanning other games, books, and shows.
It's really, the best digital CCG, and it has seamless integration with its Android app (which works and looks good on smaller screens), which means I can play on PC or on my Phone.
How many times you lose a duel with someone in other card game due to rng? No matter how many good cards you have in Gwent, the strategy is the key to success. Extra card on your hand can shift the victory chances in your favour. Tactical thinking will get you to the top of leaderboard, not a lot of legendaries in your deck. Because you can have max. 3 legendary cards, and 6 epic cards. the rest is what wins the game. Not many games offer nowadays such limitations. Each nation got unique way of winning. I spent money only on starter pack (it is a GOOD DEAL). The game is not forcing you to buy hundreds of barrels to keep up. I can craft a lot of legendary cards with card pieces gained by milling the extra cards (you can only have 3 copies of bronze and ONE copy of silver and golden), but prefer to spend it only when I need a specific one for my new deck idea. This is not a game for dummies. The rng was introduced in computer card games for all those who are poor tacticians, but have a lot of money so they can get tons of rng based cards and win duels with much more tactical players. In this game your brain is the key to victory, not the size of your wallet.
give me the worst impression, among my 97 GOG games.
give me the worst impression, among my GOG 97+ steam 200 +PS4 98 +NS 27+ and some PSV games.
can not believe that it comes from CDPR
DLC should be renamed without "GWENT: The Witcher Card Game" ,becasue the DLC is good.
*Big mistake* would be an understatement here..
Game that used to keep me hooked for hours is now unpleasant, frustrating experience with nice graphics.
Please bring back old Gwent.
