The gameplay in Rogue Mage includes none of the strategic elements that make regular multiplayer Gwent a good game. There is only one single round per match, and each match is played against an AI that makes up for being poorly coded by having the most bizarre and unpredictable abilities you can imagine. The only strategic decision you have to make is whether to spend your energy on spells or not, and the most potentially impactful spell is essentially a roll of the dice that may or may not actually be helpful.
The roguelike elements are underwhelming, the events along the way are uninspired, and the gameplay is so very dreadfully dull that I honestly wish I could ask for a refund on principle alone, even if the price of the game isn't very high.
Rogue Mage is so bad that it has made me lose interest in playing regular Gwent as well, in spite of the facts that a slew of new cards were just released for the multiplayer version, and that I have played well over a thousand hours of Gwent over the past 5+ years.
