While quite different from the previous single-player GWENT experience, GWENT: Rogue Mage is an extremely solid title that masterfully combines mechanics from the card game introduced in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt with roguelike mechanics. With tons of different cards and different strategies, Alzur's search for the mutagens that will create The Witcher is an extremely engaging one, despite the smaller focus on story, compared to other games belonging to the popular series.

The game is great!
But it is not best-of-three-rounds Gwent. That already exists.

Boring as Expected
Very uncomfortable gameplay and experience not like the thronebreaker. Progress too slow and as same frustrated as the online match algorithm. Easy to die and enemy playing all dirty routes as the "real player" or "competite fans" or "slaughter type players". Garbage as players.

Same broken input as "core" Gwent game
Sadly CDPR haven't seen fit to fix the buggy input handling on PC that's been in place ever since Gwent released. If you have any HID input devices attached to your system, this game will stone cold refuse to let you use keyboard and mouse, you will not get any meaningful input hints either with only XBox pad button prompts. The only way to play the game would be to remove everything that looks remotely like a pad or joystick, and sorry, I'm not doing that. Maybe I'll up the score when CDPR fixes that stupid issue, but as it stands it's a "do not buy" from me. If they cannot even be bothered to implement industry-standard input switching (if I so much as touch the mouse, LET ME USE IT!), who knows how bad the rest is.
