One of the most acclaimed adventure games of all time is now back, better than ever. Grim Fandango's epic story of four years in the life (or death) of Manny Calavera, travel agent to the dead, has been remastered to look, sound, and control even better than when it won GameSpot's Game of the Year award upon its original launch. Grim Fandango still stands as a classic of the genre, with unforgettable characters and unique combination of film noir and Mexican folklore.
Grim Fandango Remastered includes:
Repainted, hi-res character textures
New, dynamic lighting
Classic score re-recorded with a full live orchestra
Maybe I'm dumb but I had to look for walkthrough many times. This puzzle was not for me. Anyway it was fun so if you like p'n'c you can play it. I think it is worth buy on promo.
Played on Steam before. It's a pretty good game, but a lot of the game's puzzles have you looking at the guide constantly. Other than that nearly everything is perfect with this game.
First of all...
I'm a big fan of Tim Schafer and Double Fine, so it's hard for me to be objective when reviewing this game.
I played Grim Fandango when it was first released and then I played the remastered version a couple of years ago. And I really enjoyed it both times. I guess that's what makes a game a classic.
Grim Fandango excels at everything a great adventure games needs: an interesting story, charismatic characters, puzzles that really make you think. Besides it has that peculiar brand of Tim Schafer-style humour that at times almost goes over the top, but always maintains a certain elegance and doesn't plunge into vulgarity.
I guess, the only negative thing about this game I can think about is the traditional controls that may seem uncomfortable for some players, but the remastered version features alternative controls to remedy that.
Grim Fandango is one of the best adventure games ever made, so I recommend everyone to give it a try.
