Seriously the bad reviews on here are unfounded. Just read the description or better yet, take ten minutes to look up gameplay on YouTube! It’s a very difficult game that does an excellent job of simulating the tense moments of a bad situation. I can understand not liking that but just jumping into a game blind and saying it’s bad for because you thought it was something else is just dumb.
This game, as other reviewers have noted, is frustrating and repetitive. Each level has a learning curve - the elements at play that can foil your attempts are hinted at, but the mechanics of how to control them are only discovered through experimentation. Which means failing. A lot.
For reference, I've beaten the first level of "I Want To Be The Guy" before losing any interest in completing that game. If you have a similar level of masochistic doggedness this is worth checking out. Note that it should only take about six hours to play through the whole thing though, even if you mess up a fair amount like I did.... and since how much one should pay for the privilege of suffering in exchange for an eventual feeling of accomplishment is extremely subjective it is worth balancing the current cost against the playtime.
It's more challenging than it is 'fun' but there's something going for that approach. Try to get to the third level at least - that's probably the most enjoyable one.
Don't get me wrong it looks lovely, the pixel art is great and everything is just nicely put together but that's where it ends. From the very start it's pretty much a clickable wall of text and you are thrust into a game where you have to manage everything. It feels so frustrating, constantly juggling between talking, kicking hacking and more. One wrong move and it's game over, but having to do it again and again and again will drive you crazy!!
There's no hints as to what to do next, for example the first bit you have to calm then down or scare there but there's no animation and it's mostly luck. For example I had all of them calmed and suddenly one by one as I was telling the guards to back off they all started running away. Within about 30mins I was bored, frustrated and didn't want to play anymore. A game should not be like this in the first mission.
PROS - Looks great, great sounds and music
CONS - Too hard, Frustrating, repetitive
