Before man climbed down from the trees to shop in megastores and drink cappuccino, before the Earth wadded itself into a cool blue ball, before the Moon even existed, there was the Island. The Island, a massive fragment of a long-lost planet, hurtling blindly through space. Upon the surface of this paradise wanders the giant, Kabuto. Little does Kabuto know that the Island was home to others before him. In the oceans, there dwells a matriarchal race called the Sea Reapers. In their pride, they created Kabuto, as a defense against intruders. But Kabuto became conscious of himself, his loneliness, his pain - and he went berserk.
Space castaways, the Meccs piloted their ship through space, looking for their missing friends. If you haven’t guessed already, they ended up on the Island. Faced with yet another unscheduled layover while on their way to Planet Majorca, the Meccs decide to make the best of their temporary home. Just their luck - the natives are already embroiled in their own little war, and the Mecc visitors are most unwelcome!
Meccaryns... Sea Reapers... Kabuto... One island isn’t big enough for the three of them.
Three unique races, each with a totally different gameplay experience
Bawdy humor that will keep you laughing throughout the game

This game is pure gold! Played the demo when I was in elementary school but had no means of buying or getting games so now GOG.com made it possible. After all those years game is still pure gold!
Game starts with 2 potatoids (potato people) then advances to some siren like creature and finishes with GODZILLA! You have jet-pack, you have weapon selection, you got TONS of humor, you got jet-pack, you got special abilities, procedural destruction for Gods sake and jet-pack.
Only cons I see in this title is that its old so graphics is not too appealing but for me its still fine.
Played this one a long time ago. I remember it to be fun and addictive. All three parts are very different, with unique characters. I still remember the facial expressions Kabuto had when squeezing out an egg (oh yeah, it's a very strange game).
If you like a game that seems to have been made while the entire team was allowed to have fun (and probably get drunk) on the job, get it.
And if you get it, read the manual.
Never forget the main rule: "When big Kabuto ass drops out of the sky, run like your balls are on fire."
As a single player game this one is impressive. The story is quarky and fun. There's a great deal of dry british humor.
As a LAN party game, this one is nearly unmatched. The more people you have to play, the more insane it becomes! Damn good LAN drinking game!
I've played tons of video games, and the holy grail of gaming all gamers seek are what I like to call Golden Moments. It's when something so awesome, so fun, and so vivid that you remember it for the rest of your life. Giants: Citizen Kabuto is one of those rare games that provided many such moments for me. The beauty of the graphics, the hilarious cutscenes, the fun and innovative gameplay, and the unique way it all came together made it one of my favorite games of all time.
Every year I revisit this game from start to finish to experience over and over the complete masterpiece. My CD ended up getting worn and scratched, which is a good thing I can finally get it here at GOG so I can enjoy it for the rest of my life.
Every gamer should give this game a whirl, it reminds all of us why we play games in the first place.
The most frustrating part of this game is the uneven difficulty. Most of the levels are sleepers, but then occasionally a level will come that lets you get 90% through and then just whomps you. And since it only saves at mission start, you get to do the whole thing over.
There is a fair amount of variety to the gameplay between the three different races, but playing against the same enemies for the whole game does take away from that. There's also so many different quirks to the frequently changing controls that I was constantly checking back on whatever keyboard configuration screen happened to apply to the current stage.
The graphics are passable; they neither add nor detract from the gameplay. The cut scenes are good for some light chuckles, but don't provide a very compelling reason to be slogging through yet another set of enemy barracks.
