For the positive aspecst of it I'd say the setting, lore and characters are interesting, the basic gameplay mechanics are fun, sound design and graphics are great as well. Now the negatives, the endless cycle of death without any difficulty adjustment, some deaths are downright cheap and unwarranted, the game is rather short but made long by dying and repeating sections ad nauseam. There are also performance issues, the game runs well on my machine but when using DX12 there are a lot of framepacing issues which make the game look like it's running at a way lower framerate than it is. Overall it was a mixed experience which is why I give it a mixed score.

this game looks okay for a moment, then you soon realize the controls suck. and its one hit you lose. the game is only tollerable if you can find a invicible mod from Nexus mods. otherwise, pass! really sucks.

Pros: Fantastic campaign and 'new game plus mode' (hardcore mode - removes all unnecessary bloat and ranks up the difficulty - basically makes the game twice as long as the levels change dramatically - and its awesome!!) Perfectly fair and balanced difficulty - never infuriating, but still a challenge Superb polish - no major noticable bugs Great upgrade system Best movement mechanics in any FPS game ever Boss battle no.2 Is incredible Genuinely thrilling - when you pull something off you feel amazing Story and setting are predictable but is still very enaging, with enjoyable characters and great world building The only game that has allowed me to feel MORE bad*ss than the trailers Cons: Final level is a little weak - possibly rushed? Get it if you like Dishnoured (any of them), Doom Eternal, or Hotline Miami For me - GOTY 2020

DISCLAIMER: Yes I know, your character is more along the lines of a ninja rather than a samurai... and yes ninja's are Japanese and samurai are Chinese... just let me make a bad joke, I do understand kulture and I do not need to be judged or corrected just because I choose to be happy-go-lucky :P So, all the yes to this game!!! But it has to be said... If you are a casual gamer then this title might not be for you... That is not meant to be elitist. this game is: - You get a katana, they get guns... GLHF. - 1 hit-death... it goes both ways... like a bi-REDACTED-ual - SERIOUS study/test in reaction time. - You will be forced to always be moving... no time to think! - You will be forced to always be jumping, wall-running, dogging, dashing, sliding... Y R U THONKING?!!! Become one with space-time! - You cover is your sword... slice bullets out of the air if you time it right. GREAT JOB! So yeah... I'm a sucker for punishment and pushing my limits... and synth-wave... and cyberpunk... and ninja warriors... and I think I just learned to love speed-running because of this game!... it's a good thing I don't have a job... And after finishing 'DOOM Eternal' on "Nightmare" difficultly... for some reason this seemed like a good direction to go to continue testing and practising my reflexes... and it really was!!! Totally worth it!!! :D 4/4 stars for the game itself. +1 for it being automatically a gem in my collection.
