Great Game! bad reviews, huh?
One of my favorite sci-fi games of all time. I have no idea what the deal is with all the negative reviews. I felt compelled to give it a 5-star review because I really feel like it is a 5-star game. I got it for free on EPIC and liked it so much I bought all the DLC (which, to be honest, you kinda need to get the full experience, at least the non-cosmetic DLC). The near future earth campaign is some of the most fun I have ever had period. It never crashed for one once and I've played it on two different computers.

Its Moo
... well, its kinda Moo. Buy the base game, cause its okay. Don't buy all the DLCs; buy only the ones that are useful to your style of gameplay. Its good to have so many options. The current package includes a few DLCs, and the map pack and builder's kit are free. I added Precursor Worlds and Lost Treasures a week after I bought it, after I sorted out the learning curve. The ship builder is not as good as in Galactic Civ 2, but I've adjusted to its design. Its worth buying while on sale if you love this series or if liked the Master of Orion series. MOO

Destined to become a classic!
This 4X war game is set in a fully customizable galaxy that you define- or even create to your specific tastes. It offers many races to choose from to battle or play as your own, or you can create your very own race from tendencies, traits, strengths, etc~ all from scratch and all easily accomplished within the game. Number of combatant races and their AI are fully customized as well. If that is not enough, Stardock has done a great job supporting this game with multiple offerings of downloadable content. From full on additions to minor more focussed selections to choose from. Pick one or pick them all- or pick none and play a well fleshed out game as a fantastic stand alone option.The support has been impressive with the current patch at 4.0.1 a testament to their continued support and improvements. Community support also runs very deep with full MODS to individual races, ships, and galaxies all available. This game is one of the best that I have had the pleasure to play. A stable, smoothly running game that does offer simplicity if desired, or as much hands on detailed management as you could ask. From planet development, ship design, tactics and strategy- it is all here. As an experienced gamer I have enjoyed many great games- this one is top shelf. Highly recommended!
