A highly impressive remaster

I bought this because my physical copy of the original game is dying and I still like to putt it out every now and then and give it a play. The game itself is great, and this remaster really does it a great justice. The art is unchanged, it's just gotten far less pixelated than it was. If you prefer to play it as it looked originally, that's only a single key press away, which is wonderful. The new art does a lot of justice to certain scenes that felt a bit muddy at the lower resolution, such as inside the mink farm. Miranda also comes out better in this version, since her main scenes are shot at a distance her face wasn't seen very clearly until now. So yeah, a great improvement. The commentary was a nice addition too. A definite recommend on this one, it's a fun LucasArts adventure game which has had a great update.

Charming, but short and shallow

I probably expected too much from this game, since the original is often heralded as one of the best and funniest point and click adventures ever. Maybe it was in 1995, but today it's just too short and not that interesting. Fortunately the puzzles aren't too stupid and some extra mechanics help keep the atmosphere (such as bike fights), however I also have to say the demolition derby minigame is, without exaggeration, probably among the most anti-fun I've played. I ABSOLUTELY appreciate the setting as there definitely aren't enough biker games; and the story, while very brief and not that unique, is fairly interesting with some nice characters. I mean, at the very least it's not another save the world and get the girl story, which is always a plus. Overall though, while the game is good enough, I've definitely played better even in its genre. Maybe worth 5 €, definitely not the standard price of 15 €; remastered or not.

A solid remaster but a weak game.

A solid remaster – the artwork looks a lot better whilst still keeping the same tone and style, the modern conveniences are a nice touch and the ability to swap back and forth at the press of a button is great. That begin said, the game is very choppy, jumping about from one scene / location to the next and the timed / instant death sequences should have been removed. The bike combat and demolition derby controls are pretty poor and the game shows its age with a clunky inventory interface and unclear puzzles. It’s still a classic and definitely worth playing, although is very short and apart from its style, doesn’t have much going for it.

Good but Not Great

Cool world, fun dialogue and likable characters. This game is really a blast all the way through, but the weird gameplay implements (such as riding a bike) and short playtime makes the game not as great as it could have been.

A Classic just got Classier

Back in the year 1995 i stood in silent awe when i first saw the graphics of this timeless LucasArts masterpiece. But this was not all. The amazing gameplay mechanics along with the street battles gave Full Throttle that fresh perspective that most adventure games lacked at the time. Ben, Maureen, Malcolm Corley and of course Andrian Ripburger were outstanding as characters as they were in performance. A remaster nowadays not only breathe fresh air but will also give the opportunity for the newcomers to experience how an adventure was made in the glory days. I hope for more remasters of classic LucasArts adventures to follow not only because we want it, but for that bittersweet nostalgia we felt the first time we played them. Thanks for the memories Tim :)
