using FRED
can anyone help me with FRED2? everytime i try to launch freespace, it says the file cannot be specified or something.

The pinnacle of space combat simulation
This game is amazing. The plot and dialog feel very authentic and you really get sucked into what is going on. With a joystick, this game is a dream to handle. Check out the open source Freespace 2 project and download and install all of fancy new graphical updates to really enjoy this classic reborn.

Amazing!
This game is awesome! I had Babylon 5 before, and this is infinatly better. I was suprised by how good the graphics are, and the sounds are good as well. I dont think that any other space simulator can compare to this one, and it is definatly worth getting!

It doesnt get better than this
freespace 2 is my favorite game of all time for a reason, the amazing voice acting, excellent combat, realistic physics. plus it has a lot sentimental value. all of this makes it my #1 favorite of all time, its sad that interplay no longer exists

Genre Defining
Not much needs to be said, if you want space dogfighting, this is THE prime example. So! Instead of writing another long winded review here, instead I'll direct you to hard-light.net. There you'll find a modding community dedicated to FS1 and 2. They've done spectacular work upgrading the engine, the models, you name it. There's also a lot of custom campaigns ranging from babylon 5 to homeworld and a fantastic series called Blue Planet.
