The game looks great and works mostly ok, although the game lost my autosave after the first chapter and I had to ask for a savegame from Killmonday.
The problem for me, a long time adventure fan, was the low difficulty of the puzzles. It almost felt like it was aimed for children judging by how easy the problems were. But of course, it can't be for kids because the game is pretty brutal and scary.
Also, as a screenwriter I did think the script was not very strong, and there were very long parts where the player couldn't do anything else but follow the characters' conversations.
All in all, a pretty big disappointment for me.
I wanted to give this game a higher rating because I enojyed it very much. First, it was different from what I normally play (RPG's) and the plot itself kept me very intrigued throughout. You are Fran Bow, a young girl who trying to figure out why horrible things are happening to her and why her parents were killed. You go from the mundane world to fantastic places and experince both wonder and horror. Unfortunately, the game is woefully short and ends abruptly with dozens of questions left unamswered. Hopefully, there will be some DLC in the future, otherwise the replayability is down to zero.
I'll just quote a part of an another review that sums up my feelings perfectly:

Third: The thing that really annoyed me was the ending. It's like the designer just decided they were done with the story now and wanted to go do something else.
A bunch of confusing stuff happens quickly with vague explanations, and then suddenly "oh it's over now."
It's like if Lord of the Rings ended with Frodo and Sam going off in the rowboat, and Aragorn/Legolas/Gimli say they're going to go look for the other hobbits, and that's all there is.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Had I known the ending, I wouldn't get the game - I can't stand games that leave you hanging like that. Literally NOTHING resolved, nothing explained. What the hell.
It's a real pity because the rest of the game, everything before the ending, was really great!
