Good game, so much NOT for everyone

Firewatch is rather short in its story. But at the same time its long enough to convey everything that needs to be conveyed. The two protagonists are well flashed out and their voiceacting is well done. As for the game aspects of this game? I am rather reluctant to call this a game. I have not run to a failure state (and I am a terrible gamer). Its more of a interactive storry told by iteractions between to people and the world. All in all, if you are in a mood for not overly long, down to earth story of everyday people that are running away, go for this game. For the right mood, right time and right person, this game is gold.

Huge let down of a game.

pretty damn atmospheric

So for it's normal price, i'd say it's way overpriced. You are looking at 4-5 hours of playtime. That said, this is the only downside i see with this game. Graphics are good and fitting, voice acting is just superb. While i expected a walking simulator in the wood, playing a parkranger or sth like that, it turns into a slight horror game as well. So i think it was well worth it's 9€. Better experience than most movies i go to, which are even more expensive.

Immersive but very short experience

Nice graphics, great dialogue/voice acting and engaging story. The end was different than expected but not necessarily worse. Indead, I think it is still pleasing and fits well to the overall theme and mood. What I really liked is that the game manages to create a creepy atmosphere in bright daylight. That's still someting games/films rarely try. (Let's be honest: It's quite easy to scare players by putting them in a dimly lit mansion, forest, military complex etc.) Unfortunately, the game is very short. And as a „walking simulator“ you should not expect any real challenges in regards of gameplay. I got it for 10 $ and that's a price I was happy to pay in retrospect.

Immersion Pure

Great story with minimalistic graphics, but it works. You totally feel immersed in this setting. Almost a pity that it only takes about 4 hours. However I would rate it a good entertainment like a movie thriller.
