More Like Actual Porn Than The Others!

Fetish Locator doesn't beat around the bush about what it is. It's porn. I know a lot of these games can have one or several scenes, but Fetish Locator would be closer to a nukige than the rest of them. Due to the app challenges in your phone and the constant need for points, you will be trying to have as much sex with the characters as you can. There are some story parts here and maybe a few character relations, but at the end of the game you are treated to a beach of just straight up fornication. Yes, I won't deny that the Lydia relationship dynamic is a thing and there are attempts at storytelling with some of the other characters, but this game goes out of it's way to give you sex scenes. Especially if this is the extended version (1.40) of the game, which was Patreon only for quite a while. Week One is short, hopefully we'll get Week Two and Week Three here as well. It might be porn, but the story bits tie it together to make for good porn, so to speak.

Extortion storyline ruins the game

A university setting, characters who are obviously old enough for university, a plot device to explain why the students are suddenly trying out new stuff, and a good dose of artistic license about the levels both of libido and free loving. Quite a lot of likeable characters are introduced, and it seems that the action is consenting, with the only doubts being minor ones about unfaithfulness. Then the plot reveals that some of the characters are being repeatedly extorted into performing sexual acts. That story backdrop, along with some earlier loose ends hinting that other characters will also be revealed as victims, makes all of the characters' consent questionable. That dropped my opinion from "fun game" to "this is actually a horror story, I don't even want to test whether different choices would lead to an alternate story". Looking for other reviews after knowing that detail, although the kinks are optional, it looks like extortion is always part of the background story.

Average in Many Areas But Overall Great

Fetish Locator does a good job of incorporating a wide variety of kinks as well as structuring things in a way that they’re all optional without losing out on the actual story. You close down avenues of making points in the app but you also have plenty of other opportunities to make enough to get by. The story itself was decent. There is a plot involving the app and makes you wonder just who it’s creators are but in my opinion it was one of the less interesting aspects of the story. There were several other characters I was far more interested in. As with many visual novels like Fetish Locator I was the least interested in the woman that the main character was supposed to be pursuing. You can obviously pursue other women as well but had I been able to opt out of Lydia like I could the others I would have. The animations are pretty good compared to the competition but I would have liked more choice in how certain lewd scenes play out. The voice acting was a weird hybrid model that many visual novels use. A small portion of the dialogue is voice acted for certain people. I find is jarring this way because you never know what parts will have voice and which won’t. There was also a small issue where some parts of dialogue or noises made by certain characters were in different accents. For instance when saying certain things the character would sound North American but others would sounds British. None of my nitpicks are big and none detracted from my enjoyment. I played Week One of The Fetish Locator on Linux. It never crashed on me and I didn’t notice any spelling errors or bugs. You can save any time you want and I think there were infinite save slots as they never seemed to run out. My System: Intel i5-12600K | 16GB DDR4-3000 CL15 | Intel UHD 770 | Trisquel 11 |

Great Game

It's a great game don't let the negative reviews fool you they are just here to review bomb something they don't want on GOG. A very good story line with excellent renders and at a decent price.
