F.E.A.R. Platinum

First time that i played F.E.A.R. as of this review. I was expecting the game to be scary since i remember when it came out people said it was terrifying, but I didn't think so. The enviorments though, and the ambience and vibe, are very lonely and somewhat creepy, i really enjoyed it. Combat was good too, its your standart shooter but with well written A.I. that honestly makes me wonder how are modern games A.I. enemies still so dumb when we had this. I also think that, while the game looks quite dated now, it is very technically impressive for it's time and I really enjoyed it. Just a FYI to anyone wanting to buy this, in order to access the 2 expansions the game comes with, Extraction Point and Perseus Mandate, you have to open the installation folder and run the .exe on both FEARXP (Extranction Point) and FEARXP2 (Perseus Mandate), you can't access them through the GOG library.

Played this game back in 2005 and it is still great

Played a tiny bit of FEAR back in the day but not much, been getting so tired of modern gaming on PC and consoles, games just feel like 300 hours of chores and slop, got tired of not enjoying games and decided to check out GOG on my PC, got this game dirt cheap and its been a blast, the gameplay and atmosphere is amazing and the AI is absolutetely insane even for 2025. Overall the game is simple and fun to play without 200 hours of fetch quests and bs to go through. Made me realize how good we use to have it back then. Glad i got it on GOG for a good deal and DRM free, i typically buy most games for console for physical but since GOG allows the offline installers for onwership i decided to play here

I have some time in the story now and it is REALLY fun. The scares aren't too bad but the action and mechanics are pretty good. solid 9/10
