Includes F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin and its addon F.E.A.R.2: Reborn
A routine assignment to locate the president of Armacham Technology Corporation in connection with an unfolding hostage crisis turns into a desperate battle for survival after an explosion decimates the city and unleashes Alma Wade, the terrifying supernatural menace at the center of Armacham’s highly classified Project Origin. As Alma’s power swells out of control, special forces Sgt. Michael Becket and his squad must battle through an apocalyptic landscape of shattered buildings and buckled streets in search of clues for how to destroy her. The more Becket learns about Armacham’s secret experiments and reckless agenda, the more he begins to suspect that he’s somehow linked to the crisis and may be the only one capable of averting total disaster.

It might not have been the follow up that I would have wanted, but it still executes the formula well enough to be above the average 2010s single player FPS campaign. It's worth it when it's really cheap.
If you have played the original FEAR, you will in most likelihood be really disappointed in this game. That being said, I heavily prefer Project Origin over the iconic OG.
The story is better, with some really dark subjects that I enjoy. The music is something I adore, shout-out to the Snake-Fist theme. And the visuals, while not having the same harsh shadows, are genuinely impressive.
Gameplay is a lot of fun, and the lenght is relatively short, making it a great one-sitter.
This is a game I replay every October, and I enjoy it just as much each time!
... shame that FEAR 3 showed this game's story the middle finger...
Project Origin still holds up very well, it's a good game but some step back were made.
the major downgrade from the predecessor is in the level design, the first game was linear but the combat arenas were more complex, that made possible for the very good AI to express it's full potential. in the sequel combat feel more predictable. despite this flaw, this time the game is more varied in enemy tipes environment and situations, making it feel less repetitive then the predecessor.
the engine is very well optimized and still pleasant to look at.
4 stars for me.
played on a lenovo ideapad 3
