How to install and play Fallout London:
If you own Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition on Steam, please click here to access the installation's instructions provided by Team FOLON®. You will have to downgrade your version, then install the Fallout: London via our dedicated launcher.
Install Fallout London via GOG GALAXY and launch it.
Follow the launcher’s instructions, and enjoy!
A Polite Disclaimer
In typical imperial British fashion, Fallout: London will take over your Fallout 4 installation. Installing Fallout: London will make irreversible changes to the default Fallout 4: GOTY Edition installation. You’ll also need to disable cloud saves (as the save folder is shared between the game and the mod). If you’d like to play the default Fallout 4: GOTY Edition again, you’ll need to uninstall the game and the mod, and then reinstall Fallout 4: GOTY Edition.
Summary
Fallout: London lets you explore a dishevelled London set in the Fallout universe. It overhauls Fallout 4 with a new story, new weapons, London-centric items and a vast recreation of the ruined city to explore.
Fallout: London is a free total conversion mod for Fallout 4, available to anyone who owns the base game and all of its DLCs. It is developed non-commercially by Team FOLON, many of whom are proud London residents or expats.

The mod its self is very enjoyable and reminds me of Obsidian when it comes to some of its tongue in cheek writing. The issue is the number of mods you need just to make this mod playable and then even then it still has crashing issues with some areas being worse than others. I'd only recommend in its current state if you are a hardcore Fallout fan otherwise just wait for future updates and patches.
It's unfair to call this game a mod. This is a full game that just happens to be using the Fallout 4 engine. And the fact that this equisite labor of love is free is a testament to enthusiasts love for Fallout 4 and the Fallout universe.
The denizens of Vaul-Tec are seemingly absent in London. But a new shadowly cabal known only as Angel plays the world like a puppeteer from behind a veil. Factions vie for control over the burned out husk that remains of this once great empire. Who will remain to guide the survivors to a propserous future?
Sure, there are bugs and crashes. What Bethesda game doesn't have that? But you know what Bethesda games don't have? A dedicated team working one-on-one with users to provide solutions.
Team FOLON has made a masterpiece. Fans of Fallout 4 have always wanted one thing, more Fallout 4. A whole new world, new lore, weapons, enemies, all beautifully detailed and expertly voice acted. It really can hold it's own as a professional quality stand-alone game. For FREE!
If you have difficulty with the game as of 8/8/24, do yourself a favor and read FOLONs extensive support threads in Discord or Reddit. It really is worth the extra effort to install Buffout and other minor fixes. Or wait until the recently announced update is released. I can assure you this minor amount of effort is certainly worthwhile given the huge reward.
Team FOLON deserves to charge full price for this game. It really is that good.
I for one am grateful for this monumental effort and have already spent 25+ hours exploring their world. Thank you for this wonderful experience.
God save the queen! And mind the gap.
It's amazing how much they accomplished with so little people. This mod is bigger than Nuka World and Far Harbor put together and also free. Bethesda would have charged me $70+ for far less content.
And yes, it has issues. There is no way it wouldn't have issues because is built on top of the steaming pile of buggy garbage that is Fallout 4's engine. I'd say it came out pretty darn well for all the crap the had to push through and all the needles they had to thread to get this done.
Thanks FOLON Team!
This game is absolutely beautiful! Wonderful story. An obscene amount of content. The game truly sucks you into the world of a post-apocalypse London. I was not sure how much play I would get from an advanced game mod. But I have not been disappointed.
That being said: this is a fan-made game mod. You cannot expect the polish of a professionally published work. However, as mods go, this one is so good it's understandable that someone mught confuse it for something from a professional gaming studio. It is not perfect: there are still many bugs that need working out. But they are good at staying in contact with their playerbase via their Discord. Not only are the devs there to help, many of the players also offer assistance as they can. FOLON has built themselves a nice community around their product.
In short, if you love Fallout, definitely try this mod out. It's head-and-shoulders above yet another run through the Commonwealth. Or passing time away in West Virginia.
I'm giving it 5 stars because this was a massive undertaking by a mod team. They've done great work and,if you can get it working,it's a pretty good experience, especially for the price. But there are problems. I'm listing them here cause I refuse to use Discord and I can't find any other forum for them.
The game crashes a lot. From my experience,it seems there's some bugged objects that crash the game when rendered so if you look at the wrong thing, the game crashes. You can work around this by noticing which direction you look in when it crashes. If it's consistent,it's probably a bugged object not rendering properly. Just don't look that way if you can.
The London Bridge settlement is a lost cause. I tried everything but the people there just disappear and I found Beefy dead twice, once floating in the river. Even clearing Covent Gardens and trying to move the settlers there didn't work with only a few of them moving and the rest just disappearing. I don't think this is going to work and honestly,I'd rather set up in the Tower of London. Maybe work up a quest where Beefy helps you take it over.
I would also like it if you could make the Fresco into a Home Plate type of place. A "personal player house" you can get early on as a lair. It's a good location, lots of resources to scrap, and it's pretty much got a prebuilt in quest. You kill the Bloatmother and you can access the workbench. And why did you stick to the idea of making workbenches require local leader? That never made sense, please stop.
Weapons are neat but broken. The Crude guns can't hit anything. I know these are makeshift weapons but come on. I can't hit someone right in front of me? Try to stick with vanilla weapons when you can and sort out which guns work and which don't. Needs to be fixed, tho. Also, the upgrade tables are a mess with the new gear. Definitely need to tidy up there.
Still,if you don't mind the alpha status of it,it's worth looking into. And try to have fun with it.
