Fallout London is a total conversion mod made by Team FOLON® for Fallout 4 GOTY and requires you to own the base game on either GOG or Steam.
How to install and play Fallout London:
If you own Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition on Steam, please click here to access the installation's instructions provided by Team FOLON®. You will have to downgrade your version, then install the Fallout: London via our dedicated launcher.
Install Fallout London via GOG GALAXY and launch it.
Follow the launcher’s instructions, and enjoy!
A Polite Disclaimer
In typical imperial British fashion, Fallout: London will take over your Fallout 4 installation. Installing Fallout: London will make irreversible changes to the default Fallout 4: GOTY Edition installation. You’ll also need to disable cloud saves (as the save folder is shared between the game and the mod). If you’d like to play the default Fallout 4: GOTY Edition again, you’ll need to uninstall the game and the mod, and then reinstall Fallout 4: GOTY Edition.
Summary

Fallout: London is a free total conversion mod for Fallout 4, available to anyone who owns the base game and all of its DLCs. It is developed non-commercially by Team FOLON, many of whom are proud London residents or expats.

I was really looking forward to playing a 'new' Fallout, the video previews looked amazing but it feels empty to me much like the Atlantic City expansion for Fallout 76 did. It has the look, the characters and creatures that are there are very good but it lacks the life of the other games. There are a few tech glitches (can't properly target ladybirds, visual issues when crouching, etc.) but if you can't work around those or find unofficial fixes then you probably aren't ready to play a Bethesda game. It also felt too closed in for an open world, so many doors that can't open and areas that can't be reached.
The work that was done was astounding given that it was a fan made DLC and I don't want this review to take away from that, but for me at least it's just missing the life that makes the mainstream Fallout games so good.
Just an asbolutely refreshing fallout game that was really needed. It's insane that other than Fallout 76, we haven't gotten a fallout game in almost 10 years. So I am thankful for the team to have made something that keeps the spirit of fallout
Many thanks to FOLON for developing this. Calling it a mod feels like an injustice. Beth should have paid you well and done a Beth production/developed by FOLON and released as a new title with all the associated fanfare.
Maybe that was not what the developers wanted so I don't know. Regardless, one of the best fallout games I have played.
In many ways, better than Fallout NV so far. Have not finished the story so maybe it drags at the end, but love the consistency of expectations, but the many surprises thrown in.
The tunnel cough/intermingled with radiation is a good example of using an innovative approach that complicates your response to the dangers. Threw me for a loop.
I favor guns but they set the situation so you almost have to use melee weapons to be sucessful. Never used them really so it was a new feature for me.
I was expecting something much more basic, but this feels like the real deal, just a new title in the series. Todd should be doing a head slap if they had a chance and did not invest heavly in getting this out the door.
Have no idea who FOLON is, but they should be the designated creative force in anything new in Fallout software.
This is just an amazing and wonderful game. Really like that the learning curve is short if you have played a fallout game before, but like all the little tweaks that remind you this is a new release.
Downside: there are some minor problems with how settlements work and a few crashes for unknown reasons. Definitely was not a problem for me.
I have stuck with Archie so far. The lock picking is just too valuable if you are a completionist. That was a nice touch, since it is kind of a middle finger in the other games when you got to remember to go back and unlock stuff you already explored.
Thank you Devs! You impressed the hell out of me. Just can't believe this got out as a mod and not hugged into a "special development" but provide by Beth.
