just a question before i buy
does it acually work on windows 7 and later unlike the steam version, or do you still have to do the manual optimizing bs that i have failed at repeatedly

As good as I remember it to be!
As someone who played the heck out of this game on PS3, playing it on PC for the first time almost brings a tear to my eyes. I did buy it on that other online store before, but I couldn't play it due to imcompatibility with Windows 10. This version runs smooth for the most part, I did get a hard crash after exiting the Arepo area and hearing some strange hissing sound, I'm sure this will be fixed in future patches. If you enjoyed it back then, or you haven't played it before, this is an easy purchase. Thanks for bringing it to modern systems, much appreciated.

Fallout 3 is garbage and here is why.
Oohh... edgy. Ok, so i nicked the title from hbomberguy (of youtube fame) video about fallout 3 being garbage. Sorry for that. I do agree with pretty much everything he said about the game and more, so check it out. It's only 1 and a half hour long rant ;) In any case, why do i hate the game so much? Glad you asked. See, I was there when Fallout 1 and 2 premiered and i loved the hell out of both of these games, so when F3 came out I remember how enthusiastic i was towards it. However, when I finally got to play this glorified Oblivion post-apocalypse mod i was devastated, it was such a massive letdown. The game disregarded so much of what made Fallout 1 and 2 great (the themes, the lore, the dialogues, the story) and gave us in return another one of Bethesda's hallmark (at least by today standards, it wasn't like that when Morrowind came out) "explore everything, enjoy nothing" cardboard cuttouts, low on dialogue, themes and lore, but high on copy-paste locations with a chest at the end and maybe a recording of someone doing something uninteresting in the past. The interactions with NPCs were minimal, the quests were... kinda weird (i mean, i don't want to say generic, even though a lot of them were, but they had a tonal problem. Lilke, they had only two modes: "cooky" and "grim", and i was quickly tired of the "cooky" mode, but then again - humour is subjective, so take that opinion for wha it is), the enviroment was inconsistent and bland, and a lot of things just didn't make sense (plot- or themewise). And i'm not even going to rant about the hideous graphics and animations, bugs, performance issues, cluncky controls and very subpar fps gameplay (since Fallout: New Vegas had the same engine and was absurdly superior in spite of having a lot of flaws of Fallout 3). There is fun to be had here, sure, Bethesda is great at making exploration sandboxes, but by all the gods of Discworld, play Fallout: New Vegas instead! Forget F3 ever existed. And F4. And F76.

Boring game with fun bugs
+ Combat is fun. + Some of the bugs are really hilarious, like people in the vault having meter-long claws instead of fingers. - Horribly long tutorial with very long cutscenes and dialogs. - Crashed every 30 minutes or so and there was a lot of minor bugs. - Very linear and boring story. - A ton of immortal characters that not only don't need to be immortal but shouldn't be (E.g. there's a town inhabited only by children, and when you come there they don't want to let you in. But since they're all children you cant just kill them cuz they're immortal.). - VATS strikes with melee and unarmed can't be aimed at a specific body part, while shots can. - The map feels pretty empty, there's nothing in towns. - The SPECIAL stats don't really change gameplay very much, with Perception 1 you can still aim in VATS and hit, and shooting manually is exactly the same, - Very combat based, non-combat skills can be useful but you can't really beat the game with them.

Game doesnt run, beware!
Game absolutely does not run buyers beware, Tried 2/3 hours of troubleshooting, adding nvidia dx9.dll files,unofficial patches, anti crashmods , even trying new vegas anti crash mods (these are supposed to work with fout 3) giving admin privelages, lowest settings/all settings off ans the game doesnt run whatsoever just crapping out as soon as play is pressed. Dont waste your time as of november 30th 2019 windows 10 ryzen 1700x @4ghz gtx 1080 16gb ddr4 3000mhz installed on seagate firecuda
