Fallout

I like this game because of the classicness of this game. I like old games.

The story is pretty much as good as Planescape Torment or other good narratives in video games. Fallout 1 is liniar but very straightforward with the possibility of a peaceful, non-combat ending as a bonus that is impossible not to appreciate. Fallout 2 on the other hand set the stage for non-linear play with a lackluster main story and never really catched up with the culmination that the original game reached. Play Fallout 1 even if you are not very much into RPG's. The plot is just that good.

Five stars, no two ways about it. One of the most important games ever, if you've not played it yet there is something severely wrong.

War. War never changes. You start your journey in the doorstep of your Vault 101. Your Vault's Water engines are broken and you need to go out Wastelands and find the right parts. But that wont be easy. The world survived a nuclear war but it turned into an unforgiving environment. You need to fight, solve puzzles and save your people. Are you good enough to achieve that? Fallout is an isometric Roleplaying game. You have basically attributes and skills. You also gain perks as you level up that help with those skills. My memory is a little confused since I played Fallout 1 and Fallout 3 last year. So i wont go into details about to not to get you confused either. A side note. One of the pictures in the game page shows all attributes 10 and skills beyond 100%. This is a dream and can only be achived with cheat codes. So dont get surprised if you start playing the game and see that you are very weak. Talking about weak, this game is about survival and your resources will be scares. You wont have tons of bullets and you cant be good at every skills. You need to play smart. I believe the graphics are still playable even despite its age. I played it last year after buying from GOG and it was lots of fun. The music is beautiful and sounds are lovely. You will need to do a lot of talking and ask question to understand what is going on. This is a RPG to the bones. I was never able to finish the game myself so i cant comment about the end game but I heard it is beautiful. Goodluck and enjoy this magnificent game.

While not very pretty after all these years, it still holds its own as a solid RPG. The game is a bit clunky but you get to live another story in this beautiful post-apocalyptic universe. It's pretty cool how the game is different depending on the character that you play; it can be pretty funny if you build a character with minimum (or close to) intelligence. This goes for all the Fallout games. *Editor's Choice* Pros: amazing atmosphere. Cons: misses some quality of life improvements.
