Through the eyes of Allied, German and Russian squad leaders, experience the most immersive World War II time strategy game where each battle is played out and
won differently based on your tactical choices.
Faces of War is devoted to the final period of World War II in Europe: from the summer of 1944 to the spring of 1945. During this period mighty battles were held in France, Poland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Hungary and Germany. The German war machine was making every possible effort to defend the territory of Third Reich from the Soviet and Allied troops. However, in 11 months the German resistance was crushed all along the front lines and the war ended where it had begun – in Berlin.
Get immersed in the heat of the world war II, command American, English, Soviet and German troops during world-renowned battles that include D-Day, new winter missions and the storming of Berlin
Complex team AI for new tactical opportunities: AI controlled soldiers don't simply execute any order given by a player, they think how to do it in the most efficient and safe way.
Realistic physics: anything can be destroyed or manipulated and used to player's advantage
Improvised player tactics, advanced AI reactions and real time physics guarantee players that missions will never be fought the same way.

Instead of improving the rough edges of the previous title (Soldiers: Heroes of World War II) they decided to turn it in a sort of mass action shooting with scripted scenes, no freedom of action, corridor maps.
Ofcourse the clunky interface & controls were not improved at all,
A big step down.
Almost impossible to play this. If you want INTUITIVE, go buy Company of Heroes. This junk is overly complex, NOT RESPONSIVE, bad mouse control, too many picky tiny boxes.
Camera is Janky all the time, doesn't scroll right.
Frustrating, confusing NON INTUITIVE.
Clearly was never playtested before release. DO NOT BUY THIS
To understand why Russians are so confused, you need to copy few things:
1. If you were American (or if you are), how would you react, if the game were about Perl Harbor and someone would replace US flags and soldiers - with Soviet flag and conscripts. Its not only confusing, its also to some degree - disrespectful and, to some degree, attempt to rewrite the history. Well, its actually more attempt to increase sales, yet still. Hullaballo or not?
2. The "Russians" thing.
Quick refresher, in 1939 it was not "Russia" - but USSR. It were not "Russians", but USSR citizens. A Jewish Lenin formed it, a Georgian Stalin carried it on. In USSR, nations were equal - but not mixed. Take it or leave it. So why do you keep using "Russian" word?!
Because recently - its the USA, who started spreading its "concerns" about role of each "nation" in WW2 - using the modern(!) geopolitical map in argumentation, in a very clear attempt to play each of the ascendants of USSR and Eastern Europe against each other, fragment and alienate them. The (what today are) citizens of Russian Federation (which are not only "Russians", over 100 nations live in RF), correctly understand, why and for what purpose this is done. Imagine Russia doing same against African Americans, Native Americans, Canadians; making them believe that they were forced to fight on US side, because they had no other choice; ask them why they tolerate such dictatorship even today; pour few billions of rubles for "voices of freedom" here and there.
Its like digging up the graves, disrespectful and disgusting - because in WW2 people united to fight against annihilation and physical enslavement.
3. The "Ukrainian" thing.
The three countries paying the highest death toll in WW2 were: Poland, USSR and (what later become) Israel. Nurnburg Trial documents state clear as of what kind of "freedom" the (west)"Ukrainians" under leadership of Bandera spread. Were Islamists also "fighting for freedom" in 9/11, hm? Huballoo or not?
