Went in with low expectations, but I am glad I was so wrong! This game truly did well in terms of its writing, voice acting, and overall gameplay. Would for sure recommend a try if you are a Roman history nerd or even otherwise.
Each game Logic Artists develops gets exponentially better!
Conquistador was a total surprise, rough around the edges but full of potential,
Viking was a huge step forward, with still some details to nail down,
Rome is... well yet another improvement:
Polished turn-based combat.
Promising storyline (only played 5-6 hours of it), with full Voice Over and good RPG elements.
Very cool strategic layer, building your legio, your camps, and retinue of centurions.
The legion's battles are a bit simplistic, but are just yet an extra ingredient in a very good buffet.
Last but ot least, yes it's voice acted in English, but a lot of effort was put into trying to pronounce names and roles as close to what Latin was as possible, just a plus. :)
