As the leader of the expedition, you will face difficult decisions about the use of your troops and your resources, as well as how to engage with the factions of the savage New World. Will you defy history and be a diplomatic envoy of peace? Or will you be a ruthless conqueror determined to lay all of the Aztec Empire at your feet?
Expeditions: Conquistador is a tactical roleplaying game with a touch of strategic resource management and a pinch of choose-your-own-adventure. Conquistador is set in a rarely visited part of history which is rife with mystery, political intrigue, and good old-fashioned violence.
Exotic historical setting with far-reaching ethical implications - balance your relations with the natives against the wishes of your expedition members.
Intuitive and flexible turn-based combat system with highly varied and detailed battlefields that will keep you on your toes.
Manage the morale, rations, and resources of your expedition as you overcome the dangers of the Aztec territories.
It has a very well written narrative and so diverse characters, each one with their own opinions and not always there will be peace and agreement in the group.
All the different abilities and skills aren't there for nothing, everything is important, and in some cases, key to progress with the least problems as possible.
You can be more peaceful or more aggresive, the battles are pretty well made and ambushes makes you feel despair.

I really like this game. It seems like it was made by people who like the same rpg elements that I do. The story, the pace, the character development, and the way one can play it with mouse only, make it very enjoyable. I hope these developers keep going down this track - they certainly have my support!
It's an engaging experience in a refreshing setting. The writing is compelling and the fights are interesting enough to play it for hours. I did not expect much when I bought this game, but I am so impressed with it that I will definitely pick up other games of this developer.
First off this game is great! Its like Oregon Trail meets the Aztecs, lol There is some Political Correctness with half the follower choices being women, and some obvious Natives good Spanish always bad. But aside from that its one of the funnest games to play for the time period. I really recommend this game!
I did make a realism Mod for this game. Its made all the native battles use Men instead of women and men which wasn't realistic. I changed a couple of the supernatural quests to be more down to earth, and increased the rewards for finding the temples. I also added Juan and Umberto to the game and added 4 to Mexico, Isabela, Laszlo, Juan and Umberto. This allows the player to find these companions if they just start with Mexico. I also allowed village to give gifts, but once they do you cannot trade, also prices are better at the fort but worse for the villages.
The mod is called "Expeditions Conquistador Realism" over at Moddb site. There are many more improvements and changes, and this is the only mod made as far as I know.
Great game! The story is good and the dialogue is superb. More complex and engrossing than you might think. I picked it up on a whim on sale and I am very glad I did. I highly recommend this game.
