Only thing that wasn't all that great was the main antagonist; she was very annoying, and not in a good way. Combat is super fun and visceral, although their are times when either the geomatry or enemies box you in and prevent you from moveing or dodging. Normal mode is actually decently challenging, which surprised me, cause usually these types of game are really easy on standard difficulty. One thing that is definitly not a con but I would love to see in the game is a style meter; you can string together some wicked combos and It'd be cool if you got rewarded for that. overall I'd say worth the standard price if your into action games, but if It's on sale It's a must have for anybody imo.
I played the game on Asus RogStrix G15(2022) Ryzen 6900HX and RTX 3070TI mobile at ultra setings. The game runed smoothly without any FPS dips, no crash to desktop, no problems.Only level wich had some visual bugs was episode 6 Remote RI Outpost. The only issue which i had was that the game collects data if you agree with the second EULA which is mandatory to play the game. This option can be turned off in the settings section in Data Gathering which you can set on off.Anyway i played the game on my Gaming Laptop so i don't have any secrets to begin with, but for regular users this may be a problem. The game is really fun and reminds me of the PS3 3rd person games like ( WET, Blades of Time, Infamous, Enslaved: Odyssey of the West, Dark Sector, etc).Evil West is a 3rd Beat'Em up/shooter where you have a skill tree, weapon upgrades, and a linear story divided in 16 episodes. The collectibles are scatered in the environment and they are quite easy to find if you explore all areas of the level. I finished the game in 30 hours on normal and hard in order to get al the achievements + No Death Run ( you have a posibility to select permadeath ). If you finish the game with permadeth enabled you will receive a costume upgrade that will replace health with every melee atack which is very helpfull for the hard dificulty in new game plus if you atend to do that. The game looks beautiful from a graphic point of view, and the scenery is Old America after Civil War period. I really recomend this game at a price range of 25 Euro not at full price (50% discounted). Multiplayer dosen't work properly but to begin with this game wasn't created with that in mind. It`s a solo experiance no longer than 10 hours on easy/normal dificulty if you watch all the dialogue and collect all items. After the first run you can finsih the game in 7-8 hours (any dificulty level) because you will memorize the positon of the enemies and the level layouts. Overall i had a nice experience with this game.
The game is a throwback to Xbox 360 era of games where game were pure fun.
The story of this game is quite simple: in the Wild West times there is a certain vampire that is causing a havoc. There is also organization that deals with vampires and you are part of it. Very simple, no overcomplications, "grey morals", pseudophilosophy or lecturing which is a huge achievement in today's gaming industry.
The game is linear and have a well planned linear level design without so popular today "open world" stuff that wastes time. The levels are laid out in a way where you encounter enemies in a good quantities but not overwhelming you, then after you defeat them you walk to the next encounter through a very beautiful areas and engaging in some basic actions like a jumping across the bridge and during that time you are getting ready for the next encounter which follows it. Rinse and repeat. These moments are quite balanced and I did not feel like combat areas taking long or "break time" areas are getting boring -- a perfect balance.
I would like to shout out to the sound designed of this game since they use quite an interesting way to notify player of a combat beginning/new stage and end of combat: stage change -- bell toll, end of engagement -- bullet ricochet sound.
Leveling system is also quite streamlined: combat perks are gained through level points and weapon upgrades through money you will find throughout the game.
Really nice visual design: maybe the game does not have a best graphics from a polygon count point of view, however levels are beautiful and enemies looks interesting.
The combat was quite a fun and through the perks you can get to the fun skill that fit your style of the game.
I would like to see a sequel or some similar game from these guys.
There is an additional EULA from Focus Entertainment that is neither mentioned in the store page, or the EULAs agreed to before running the offline installers. focus-entmt.com/eula This is entirely hidden until after you have payed for, downloaded, and fully installed the game. Refunding.
